Yah TII, I'd be pretty pumped to finish it, run it a little, cover it for the winter, and unwrap it next spring having it totally ready for early season walleye action.:)

A.M. progress...

After some scribing, shaping, cutting and sanding my bow side rod holders are ready for paint...

Here is where they will go, installed on those two vertical alum brackets I mounted a long time ago...

I mentioned they are more than just rod holders up there ^^^. It'll make more sense when I get them in.

Along with the stern side set up I should be able to hold 8 total rods. That's the plan in my head anyway.

Actually teamster, that is what the holes are for in those plywood brackets. I should be able to get two rods in each hole (set in rod butt to rod tip, ya know). All told, should be room for 8 rods.

Just wait,.....Once you get into the different "styles" of fishing you'll want to find a way to carry and store more rods!!!!!

Sorry yoop, still working on er. I have a ways to go yet too Maybe I'll swing over to your thread and check on your progress

Heh as I'm sure You know there's not much reason to look at My thread from Oct. 1st to mid Dec. I might surprise You since My truck is broken but lots of honeydo's on the list. I really like the rod holders interested in seeing them in action. I think You should shorten the list and splash her soon as nothing spoils Thanksgiving like an angry mob:)

Translation - I got this today, pushed the kids and wife out of the way as I rushed out to hook it up, and spent the rest of the day vrooming and watching the motor turn back and forth.

Just think of the fun you could of had if you hadn't messed around with the rod holders and had fabbed up some controls. Then you'd have the full set up to play w/ as you pretended to motor away leaving the mob at the dock. :D

David, the fella who is making my decals hit me back with this...

I know it's plane jane but I like that a lot better.

I think I'll have him chop off the bottom of that down turn on the side decal. Like this...

I agree ^^^^^...Very manly. That's going to match the boat really well. I'd go for it.

Looking good Jason, a little more done each day. The way it's freezing up here even if I get my parts early next week I will need an ice breacker to splash the SS.

Nice score on the steering arm I like the decals it's a shame so many of the original johnson ones are so ugly I definitely plan on doing something different with mine as well.

Just stopping by to cheer you on. I know you said lake trial by halloween, but I won't bring that up... :p

Boats looking great.... Take your time.... Looks like you are at intricate stages where the small details matter.

I'm heading out to winterize the new drive line tomorrow... will be a "frosty" 39 in Mississippi tonight.

Thanks mccraney! Well, I pretty much decided that sea trial and maiden voyage would be one in the same.

Though, this weekend is supposed to be beautiful, sunny and 50s. If all the minimum pieces are in place, and my life supervisor happens to be looking the other way - all bets are off:D

Winterize in TX:confused:

Can't you just give it some hot coco or something?:)
