Wow you did really well on the motor. Can't get much more reliable than that. I wouldn't disconnect the oil injection on a motor that new. I think they got the system pretty well perfected by 2003.

If the VRO works leave it alone!!

Determining what model depends on dimensions and colors. I did not figure out my model..... North Beach did. My Nassau is 16' long.

There were alot of Aluminum models in 64 as well . I cant really get the 64 model listings clear enough to read them all but theres a pile of them . I will see what I can do but I need an exact measurement feet and inches from the transom to the tip of the bow :D.

Looks like 14'10" or 11", I think the original colors were white on the bottom, red on the top deck.

Lakelover I am leaning towards a Jet or Jetstar by the dimensions . I will dig a little more and see if I can get any more info for you :D.

Thanks for your digging around, I'm hoping it'll be a jet with that 50 on it! (By my standards, anyway

Rick, you are right. I dug out the mangled capacity plate after coming across a very similar boat pic on the internet and after examining the plate with a strong magnifier, I could make out that the model was 15' Jet Star. Thanks for the info.

Here you go. This is out of the 64 brochure. Jet or Jetstar are identical except for the seats.

Sorry I had to do it in pieces-the page was too big for my scanner.

BTW, I might be convinced to take that steering wheel set up off your hands if you decide to let it go:D

In looking to identify my '62 15' Starcraft I came across the 62 and 65 sales booklets. The 15' aluminum runabout were called "Jet" and "Jetstar." The Nassau was 16'.

Man, it's amazing the info you can find on these boards! Thanks, North Beach.

As slow as it's been, I did manage to sell the West Bend a couple days ago, so now I'm ready with a plan. I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks now, so I'll enjoy myself, but I know I'll be hankering to dig in to this boat! The photos helped me decide on what to do for seats.

Funny, the brochure says HP capacity is 20-50, but the plate lists max. at 45.

(I just sent you a PM).

Hey Lakelover nice Starcraft!

These old girls keep popping up all over the place:) I have to echo the sentiment of the others when I advise to run that '03 Johnson using the oil injection rather than mixing.

Congrats on the boat purchase:)

Hi lakelover,
Nice 64, I have almost the exact same boat!! 63 15' Jet. I'll be interested to see if you have the same stringer setup that I do. I don't have the flat floor either. It will be nice to follow your progress!

Thanks.

Sorry I haven't checked in for so long but I've been on vacation for two weeks. I seem to be getting lots of recommendations to run with oil injection rather than premix and I'm wondering why it's leaning that way. Is it just personal preference or what? Those who recommend it always seem to mention the relative "newness" of the motor.
