Surely someone makes a black one.....I'd try googling it.

Surely someone makes a black one.....I'd try googling it.

I couldn't find anything so I just ordered the white. It will tie in to the white stripe on the bow anyway.

My birthday is coming up so I asked for everything needed to make it "Ranger Ready." Fire extinguisher, life jackets, oar, floatation device, flag, etc.

Last night I got the rear channel cross sections finished. The packing tape trick worked pretty well. Not as good as the wax but good enough. I'm glad I waiting to do the corners, it would have been a biotch to remove one solid form.

cool glad it worked for you. I used pink foam on mine instead of the wood, just took it out in big chunks and tossed it. I rounded up more teak today.....itching to start on my swim platforms this weekend! Hope you keep moving along.

Yeah I have a cardboard mock up and two drawings. I'm going to build a pine mockup first before I start hacking up the teak...I figure that way i can workout any issues with $16 worth of wood, not $180 worth!

I have been crazy busy and haven't had much time for the boat. Just working on little odds and ends here and there. I have to do a bunch more grinding before I can finish the channels still. But today is my birthday so I might get off early and handle some chit.

Haha, thanks Wood!...I took your advice and found an hour to get back to work. Got the stringer cross sections finished. I also got the deck channel, fire extinguisher life jackets, and some other stuff for my berfday. :) Thanks mom!

Here's the forms I made for the cross sections all wrapped in packing tape. Thanks again Arch.

I still need to grind all the crap in red for tabbing the deck to the hull. And I almost forgot about a section of stringer that needs to be added in yellow.

So it's been awhile! The wife and I bought a fixer upper built in the 40's and it has been consuming ALL of my time. After ripping down 3,000 feet of original pine wood paneling on every singe flriggen' wall, we found zero insulation inlcuding none in the exterior walls. The boat is on the back burner for now until this is wrapped up. Should be a couple of months. I'll still try to knock a little out here and there so rest assured this thread is not dead. :) I hope everyone's projects are going well!

I just got caught up with your build. I'm very impressed with your work. The paint looks awesome and the interior work is second to none. This is going to be one sweet ride. And with that tall, dark and handsome on the transom she will be pushed easily in the water. I'm really enjoying this build, keep up the good work.

I installed a garbage disposal in my old house (100 yrs old). At the same time I thought perhaps I'd replace the drain line as it ran too close to head level in the basement and I wanted to re-route it. It was cast iron as well and when I cut it open, it looked like yours. It was packed solid with only like a 15% opening. That would have been some garbage disposal had I not replaced that line!

It's been wet but finally started warming up. Of course not as warm as yours.
