When I called Raptor about building up thicker layers in the cockpit sole, they stated that it was not a good product to build more than 20-40 mils. I was trying to get to about 1/8" thick to withstand the dogs. so I ended up with the EVA. at 5mm

yeah i found on previous project same thing, its not good for that but for bottom where it is uv protected it seems to hold up well , i will use it on the top but not where i walk , i even coated over what i had done on monishka with 2k urathane because it would hold up , that said , im going with eva as well because that stuff feels so good on bare feet :)

i think you will be happy with the eva its easy to clean , does attract dirt but heck i used a el cheapo electric pressure washer on it and never hurt it , this time around i will go with brown the light grey was just too much of a headache to keep clean

picked up a trailer tonite, it was a ezloader, i will be cutting it down and modifying it for the boston whaler! , wierd thing its wide and the axle is like 96 inches lol someone stuffed a different axle under it and rode out i guess lol sadly axle is good but i have no use for it as its too wide for that i am doing.

Lol, I have a boat trailer axle collection......now that I think about it I have a fender collection also. I think after Fugglys and Miss Morgan's trailer modifications, next time I will just sell the trailer, hit the steel supply and fire up the welder to build a new one! hope yours works out well, and of course we need pics!

Fabrication is on my bucket list of things to get better skilled at , i almost pulled trigger on a new welder months back but i havent decided , i know i want to be able to weld ss and aluminum.
i might invest in a new welder, this one is a bolt together for the most part but eventually i will need 2 new trailers, and making them myself would be more fun in the long run, buddy just got a new trailer , welds were horrible and 2 broke , i think i can do better even with my lack of experience lol

If you redo the transom, make sure you make it a 20", Those short shaft 15" transoms put the rear of the powerhead in the stern wake with anything over 25 hp. (when the hull squats just before getting on plane) I'm sure that 40 Yammer touched the white wash.
You'll like the additional free-board aft too.

yep i leveled it out , the yammy is a short shaft so not sure how i will tackle that i can drop it back in same holes as before but then , like you say its in the wash .... i might need to find another engine for it .

I find that my welds look better in the dark lol! One note, when you weld galvanized material wear a respirator ( charcoal cartridge type). I am not the safety Nazi (I am the guy on the do not do this label), but it does put off some not so great gasses when you weld it. Its not as bad outside of course, but just wanted to point that out. Also, the zinc (galvanizing) contaminates the weld, so make sure you grind it back before you weld. Looks like you are moving along nicely!

Put you a fan and point it at where your welding on the galv . Those fumes will mess up your day for sure ... :painkiller:
