Re: 1962 Arkansas Traveler restoration
Well all my goodies came in mid week but since I have been busy I was not able to pick them up till this morning. I originally ordered the rack steering system but it turns out it is to long(well it fits but the guy at the boat place doesn't like how much the cable has to bend to make the turn) so he is returning it and getting me the rotary system instead.
What is the difference between the rotary and rack systems?
Here is the link to the wheel I'm ordering. Its the only one I could find that looks older and is stainless.

Here are the other goodies I picked up already today
The gauges. I went with new instead of trying to find a gas gauge to match my amp meter- it was impossible to find one that matched. So now I have two that match. I'm just going with a gas gauge and amp gauge because 1. I don't have much room in the dash, and 2. I planned on using a gps to find my speed anyways. I really like these gauges because of the chrome bezel, the blue in them will match my paint, and they are made in the USA.

The telescoping stern light. I really like the older style of light- it should match the period/age of the boat.

1. The perko pole holders- made in the usa
2. wire connectors, fuses, fuse block
3. bow light- this is period of the boat at around 1963-64
4. light switch- mine still worked but was pitted
5. horn button- again, mine still worked but was pitted
6. 12 volt plug

I will have time to work on the boat the next 3 nights so I will begin glassing all the rub rail holes and then i will begin on the electrical. It seems I just have to mount the block somewhere, and then run my wires off that to where they need to go I guess.
Thanks for looking
