Just another fellow resto' geek wanting to pass along my congrats and praises on a job well done. Also thanks for the great info from this thread. It truly helps those of us getting started on the resto. Check out my threads for the progress of my '78 River Ox. Nothing significant yet, but in the coming weeks, all hell is going to break loose... including my sanity if something goes wrong.

WOG - wow, I can't believe I am just cluing in to the fact that Splash 2 occurred. Very awesome video. BF looked great. I know you have waited so long to have that type of laid-back, issue-free fun outing on your boat. What a sweet payday... Pretty lake too.

Congrats!

The old 40 hp only gets her up to that according to the GPS. I think I'm gunna put her in the shop and have a REAL mechanic take a look to ensure she's running at her best. She sounds great but I thought she'd do better than 25 since the boat only weighs 450# Maybe I'm just Wishin and Hopin:p

Before you start paying a REAL mechanic some of your hard-earned money, have you checked the RPM's at WOT? If not, get a cheap tach and take a reading. Link below to cheap tach. Then start a thread over in the E&J Forum and let some of the gurus have a crack at it first. It's usually something simple. Good luck!

Well, no Boating work lately. The Admiral put her foot down and said the "Honey Do's" HAD to be done. Top of the list was get the new 55" Flat Screen OFF the Temporary Table and into a Corner Built in cabinet. She almost gave me a Heart Attack when she agreed to let me purchase a NEW Hybrid Grizzly Table Saw to accomplish the task. She heard my old 25 year old saw and thought it was so noisy that I needed a new one. I did NOT argue. Anywhoooo here's a pic of the results. Not a great pic from the Blackberry, but you get the idea. She picked the Apple Green color and I kinda like it too!!!! Only about a Dozen more items on the list then I can get back to the BF!!!

Wood - What a great way to squeeze new tools, I mean get the Admiral to agree that you need new toys....er, tools. Looks like the Grizzly does a nice job gnawing wood. Good work!

Sweet, new tools & a reason to use 'em! Nice work on the cab & the apple green is good. Did you thin w/ Acetone, use hardener, roll & roll, roll & tip, shoot it w/ a 1.5 nozzle? Wet sand w/ 6000Grit.....

Pix is great, but details man, details :D

Looks good, I hadn't heard of a hybrid grizzly, so google'd it:

Described as a 400+lb portable saw.. Yeah maybe if the Grizz comes over to move it for ya... Yikes...

Nice setup. You & that saw need to get that wood boat project in your sights! ;)

Looks great, kick your feet up & enjoy it for a while! Maybe the honey do list will will entail more tool purchases, ask her if there is anything she wants to add to it!

Your Admiral is one smart Lady. She reall knows how to get things done. I wish mine was that smart.
That is a great table saw. A man with your talent can make many a beautiful things, starting with that awesome Apple Green cabinet.
Very nice indeed.

Oh WOG, I am SO jealous. My better half has me making showjump wings for her, I've made four sets so far with a handsaw, hammer, chisel and drill. That Grizzly thing you've got would turn a day per set into an hour. As I said... JEALOUS! :p

When I informed my Fleet Admiral that our table saw was incapable of making the cuts she desired for one of her projects, I was authorized to purchase a new blade. Guess I need to learn how to speak Okie. Great looking work as usual, WOG!

Thanks everyone! Been enjoying the saw and getting all the Honey Do's done. My 37 yr. old son call last week and asked if I still had the Captains Bed I made him when he was 4. Looks like one of these.

I said DUH!!!! Been carrying it around all the moves for 33 yrs! His son is ready for it now. Went to the garage to "Un-Bury" it and..."Termites" Good news is, found em early, bad news is they ate one end out of the drawer storage unit. Bug Man is taking care of em, and I've been fabricating the repairs for the bed this past week. The HeadBoard, FootBoard and Rails survived pretty good. Here's a pic. I found out I'm a much better carpenter now than I was 33 years ago. But...it's bringing back a lot of memories.

Hope you all are having a GREAT HUMP DAY!!!! I may put the BF in the Lake on Sunday. If I do, I'll have another video. Just yell when I start boring you to death. You KNOW, I am just a

Practice makes perfect!! :) Boring us? Naahhhh, keep it all coming! Nice bed, I would have loved all those drawers when I was a kid! I don't know if I would have used them cuz my stuff was always spread out all over the floor, but I still would have liked them. Hope you get out in the BF, I'm still trying to find time to try to figure out why mine won't run. Have a great weekend!
