The boat's fine thanks for asking. Still haven't gotten the rub rail completely cleaned up yet but she's close. I also didn't get the Fat Fifty cover painted yet. Actually been to busy driving her around this summer. I still have to find the right colors for the 1959 Jubilee. I tried having it scanned at Car Quest and it was too far off. I'm still trying to hunt down another source. I know I can go to NY Marine but it's not cheap and I am. :D I also got another new toy. 1953 Century 18' Resorter with a 283 Flagship v-8. She needs restoration but want to finish the Clipper trailer first.

Hey Clipper,
Thanks for stopping by. How's your Boat coming along??? She's one of my favorites. I'm kinda Old and Slow but getting there. Trailers almost complete so, I'll get the boat mounted back on there and then get the motor all hooked back up and maybe splash her if we get a Freaky nice day this winter. It happens here in Okla. Some times. Heck I've played golf in January in shorts. We'll have to see how it goes.

Good hearin from ya.

if ya don't get it done this winter...splash party at my house in the spring! lol...my trailer is done...got all my wiring and wheel bearing stuff today so will have it rolling out of my way tomorrow, no more excuses I have to tackle the glass work now

Well I don't know about me being able to humble anyone! but You have been my guide in this, so no humility is there...I would definitely enjoy getting some of us together though, would be fun, and gives some of us a much needed goal to motivate ourselves...thanks for being you!!!! one (note, I got no idea what the one is for lol, just copyin you)

I bought some Deck Step plates for the "Blue Flamingo". They had Black inserts and since she's all Blue and white I knew that was NOT going to work!!! I Googled and Ebayed till my fingers hurt and could not find any white inserts. Yesterday, being the GOOD HUSBAND:p That I am, I was cutting up some cabbage on my wifes WHITE Plastic cutting board that has a nice textured surfaced. VOILA' Why couldn't I fabricate some inserts for the Deck Plate Frames out of this stuff. Sooo... off to the wood shop and table saw I went and here's what I came up with. They work PERFECT!!!!:D Took about 30 minutes to make em. Oh...I did NOT use the wifes cutting board, I'm Old and Dumb but I ain't stupid!!!!
I went to the Dollar Store and bought one for....You guessed it A DOLLAR. I could Make 3 pair of inserts out of one of these boards. If you want white step plates this is an easy and effective method of fabricating them.

Lookin' good, Wood! Hope you saw your beloved Cowboys play yesterday.
I was working the game and every time I looked at the scoreboard there were 7 more points on the visitor's side.
Y'all butchered us!

Now that's what I really like to see --- cheap-o innovation with an end result that looks factory (or better!). Funny when a great idea will come to you. I've had a couple while sleeping...the kind that just sort of pops into your head. You'll have to let us know how they work, can't see any problems myself. If the UV gets to them eventually, just whip up a few more! You better stock up on $1 cutting boards! :)

That's kinda how I looked @ it. Cheap enuf and easy enuf to fabricate if they don't last.

Wood,
Great idea and very innovative! Couldn't see how much texture there is, is there enough to keep you from slipping if they get wet?

I believe there is. I'd say it's the eqivalent of 60 grit sand paper.

Excellent, don't want any accidents when folks step on them with wet feet or shoes. I'm definitely going to keep that idea in mind when I need some. Might just put some on the Clipper since the originals are cracked real bad. Again, excellent idea, keep the coming.

Great boat.

Will be doing a custom Bench Seat right after Turkey Day. Hope to do some Vid's but pretty sure they won't be up to your standards, but maybe they'll help someone down the line.

Thanks for the kinds words and stopping by.
