Wood,

The paint looks awesome, the hull on my 61? is the same or very close, top half is different, but man that color looks really nice. Tonight I separate the top from the bottom. Pictures to come.

All I can say is WOW!!! That's an awesome looking paint job! Great job on the spraying! This gives me the fever to give my boat the same treatment.

Wasn't there a TV show

Have gun Will Tavel!;)

Only mine's a spray gun! I used to paint Oil Field Truck Cabs when I was 19 for a company that built drilling rigs. The guy that taught me to shoot paint had sniffed a few to many laquer rags and you had to catch him first thing in the morning if you wanted to learn anything cuz once he started sniffin those rags he started talkin gibberish and you never knew what he was sayin but sober or HIGH he COULD SHOOT Paint!!!!! I learned a lot that summer.

Not trying to be a brown noser, but can't thank you enough for the tips and knowledge you have shared here on painting. (Please stay away from those laquer rags so we can continue to understand you!) :)

Thanks to every one!!!!;)

I enjoy the forum and everyones comments so much. Makes the downside of working on these old boats so much more bearable, and you all know what I mean by the "Downside" I think I located a Sleeper sofa with a NEW Mattress, Never been used, for $50.00 bucks on Craigslist. Going to check it out this evening. If it's good will use the foam for my boat seats and my 91 year old Mom want the Love seat for her room at the Rest Home. What a DEAL!!! There's a tip for you. If you need foam for your boat seats, don't buy it, Check CL for FREE Sleeper Sofa's or at least Cheap ones. The Mattresses in them are usually made from FIRM or Extra Firm FOAM and is Ideal for Seats. Use spray adhesive to cover the foam with Plastic Grocery Bags and it works great. I priced Extra firm foam at the fabric store the other day and a 4 x 6' sheet was $100 bucks!!!!

My seats would requre two sheets. I can get enuf foam from one mattress to do em both. You can re-sell the couch without the mattress or give it away to get rid of it.

Works for me!!!!;)

Well, don't come to Oklahoma for a Paint job NOW!!!! It's 106? today!!! It was 95? @ 10:30 last nite. Have not worked on the boat since last weekend. I HOPE to get up EARLY Saturday morning and put the Polished Aluminum Splashwell back on, Re-Install the Rubber into the RubRail and the Transom Corner pieces and install the Motor Mount, in prepartion of putting her Back on the Trailer and Hanging the Motor. I got the Vinyl from the supplier and it's a bit Darker than I wanted but I WILL live with it and USE it. I'll take a pic of it this week end so you guys can tell me if you think it's close enuf that it won't make her look BAD!!!!
