Some of the filler in the screws are flaking out so I was planing removing all the filler .
Then replacing with some mahogany tinted filler . That way not real noticeable should I go the no stain route ...
Scott I will get rid of the eggs but I need to sneak up on the spider first to kill it .
When I turn the lights on it will probably be out of its hole . I’ll be ready to eraticate the problem easier that way ..🙂
Do y’all think taking the seat benches out would be a problem ?
Just concerned the hull might flex out a little .Probably nothing to worry about .idk ..
Arch no need to add that to punch list .
Existing conditions . I could send an RFI on it but I would prolly have it splashed before I got an answer back ....:D

I also like the accent color where the screws are. I think I would make plugs and stain the caps a darker color.
Might be too tedious though now thinking about it. You could use a different wood species for the caps so the stain would take a different hue.
I'll bet the filler will take a dif look too. Looking forward to that work.

My tape don't have 1000th marks ..Remember I'm a drywall guy .. Mud comes in 5 gal buckets and tape is 2" wide ...
Took care of mr spidey with a paint stir stick ...
Zool ,that was my exact thought ... looks like a drive by casualty ...
I think with the mahogany filler it should blend in better ... That would be a boat load of plugs .But if I can locate a scrap piece plugging is not out of the question .. Is there another way to take stain off other than sanding ?
Getting down to bare wood inside is gunna be fun ...:grumpy:

i did it to a dining table once with just acetone i kept wiping until i didn't get anymore color on the rag, however that might be a serious undertaking on the boat :)

The main thing is to not mess up the cold moulded veneer with anything to harsh .
I guess I could sand first then see what the wood bleach does ...

Woofa ...yea I hear ya on the veneer. That can get toasted real easy. Acetone might break the glue? Wood bleach may be a way to go. Any wood worker specialists here with opinions or suggestions?
Sam I thought you bought that plug do-hickey maker earlier in the thread. :joyous:
