Don't ya love it when a plan comes together. At least it bolted right in for ya. One step closer to the splash. Nice job.

Nice work on that axle, looks like peace of mind runs less than $200, not bad:)

Did you check the tongue weight to choose the location for the axle or just ball park it?

Re: 18' Starcraft SuperSport restoration

I ran the motor again last night. It starts easily and stays running. I had the lower at least mostly submerged in this big bed box I keep in my truck. It idled very nicely, although perhaps a bit low. So I bumped up the idle speed just a bit. It went into gear fine with no stalling. I realize that my fairly shallow box of water isn't providing as much backpressure as actually having the boat in the water would but I am optimistic.

SUCCESS!!!! My wife and I took it for a ride this morning before the weather goes to crap. It ran awesome! It idled, went into gear without stalling and ran great. 41MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I'd lose speed but apparently I gained it! 41!!!!

It was rough when we went out and this boat handled the chop with aplomb. Much better than the Jupiter. The power trim worked great for maximizing the hole shot and then getting the perfect angle for speed. Couldn't be happier

Awesome!!!

On that second vid, I love how you get that great big smile on your mug when you give that throttle a nudge. Nice buddy!

Glad to hear the good news:D

Sounds like you had some fun! (I can't see the vids at work but I have a good imagination)

I told you that you'd see 40+ with the trim/tilt perfected:p

Congrats on the successful launch, the first of many:)

One big ATTABOY to you EZ. By my count thats 7 months 21 days since she was 'born' into the family. And your smile is one of a proud father.:D Be warned though, once you have a hydraulic trim/tilt you will never own a motor without it.:) Experience speaking here.;) One more thing my friend, since you now own a speed boat, never leave your moor lines lying or flopping like that. If they were to fly into the water and meet Mr. Propeller....someone would not be happy.
Sincerest Congrats, Dale

Wow SHE's SPLASHED!!! freaking awsome! looks like it could've been sunnier out for ya...but PA folks cant be picky with the weather eh...

MEMORIAL DAY on the water YEHAW!

great score on the axle...... Ive been kinda busy and havent been on anyones post lately...I thought you messed with the axle a while back....either way now ya got a brand new one!

Hey a heads up...some of the factories that assemble those axles use MINIMAL grease on the new bearings.....just an FYI might wanna grease em up 1/2 way through summer to make sure they are good to go....

Your tinny looks sweet...great job on her...Im gonna hafta re-read you whole post now....CONGRATS JEREMY!

Re: 18' Starcraft SuperSport restoration SPLASHED!

Thanks guys. Vegas, I think there are a number of restos nearing their splash dates which is great. Yeah the weather wasn't nice today but the rest of the weekend here is going to be beautiful. However I didn't want to be "testing" her out on Sunday with family and friends. I was supposed to be going out with two other iboaters this evening but had to push up the splash to avoid the ran. I didn't get to clean her up beforehand. I'll be doing that tomorrow in prep for Sunday when we'll be spending the day on the boat.

Congratulations.... It looks great and the black windshield trim looks great. You better keep it locked up in the garage..... I want to steal your consoles :D Mine look like old crumpled up aluminum cans!
