Good to here they are taken care of you. On a different note how wide is the gauge or is there a place on the car you can find the size or scale O HO or whatever they are this is why i ask.

Athearn makes primarily HO and maybe N stuff. That is most likely an HO car (unless it's really tiny, then N)

Little low on fundage here at the moment with the holidays approaching. I need to put new bunks on my trailer before I can flip the boat back over and put it back on there. And it would really make sense for me to take the axle off (it needs to be moved back anyway) and take it the RV shop to have the bearings re-done. I wouldn't expect much progress for a little while.

My replacement seat came from Wise and is in perfect condition. I'm happy to have all 6 of my new seats in my possession and ready to go.

Get every one your list a boat part or what the hell just get your wife a new trailer axle or some new tires. It makes them more a part of the project or you will have plenty of time to work on it cause you now live in the garage.

They are shot. They both rumble if you jack it up and spin the wheels. (Don't tell me I can do this myself....I am well aware and I have 0 interest in attempting it. A guy I went to high school with his family owns a large RV shop so I'll happily give them the work. There would be no peace of mind if I did it).

That snow does suck we got lucky in Indiana only have two or three inches. Good look'n cover. did you ever find a fuel tank to fit.

Nope. JimBC sent a link to a place that custom makes aluminum tanks and their prices seemed reasonable considering. However, since I'm going to be building a box in the stern anyway for a casting deck, having a tank that sticks up above the stringers is no hardship really.

Re: 18' Starcraft SuperSport restoration

Wow, this is a great thread. I bought a sylvan 18'r last spring with the idea of restoration this winter. I now have a much better idea of how to proceed.

my sylvan and trailer seem to be exact copies of the starcraft in this thread. I have a 135hp evinrude ('78) but doesn't have trim n tilt. I think as part of the restoration I will install a cmc pt130 and a motorguide tm as well. I'd also like to do a front and/or rear casting deck with storage underneath.

thanks to all for all the great info in this thread.

Merry Christmas Jeremy & forum friends

I can only imagine, with snow, no way I would be out there tinkering!
heck 45 mph winds and 45 degree weather here stopped me from doing wheel bearings....paint and such would be outta the question in snow!
