Arch,

I love the booth. I made one very similar to that when I did my explorer. A word of advise, make sure you use the cheap filters. I did not and my fan died. I am going to build a smaller one soon one I get the boat on the trailer to paint the gimble and outdrive.

For the big door on the booth you could have plastic hanging over it and use velcro to seal the sides and bottom. Looks great.
With that prop the boat would jump streight up out of the water, then go all of about 5 mph

I love that motor. Tall, dark and handsome on the transom. And that is one goofy looking prop. Might be good for mixing paint.

I love that, I'll try it for mixing the paint! Well I have the roof and end wall done...need to finish up the doors and mount the fans. Right now I'm taking a break and heading down to bass pro. I need one more brass drain tube, I want to get them installed before I do the paint work. I'll post some pics later.

Everything looks great arch! I whacked my knuckle last night while I was grinding. All the dust under the tarp jus acted like a coagulent(?spelling)- it plugged it up pretty good

I second the idea of stickers from a local graphics shop. UV protective vinyl stickers color matched to you boat for cheap. I'd have the make double right away just in case you ever scratch one.

Naturally Bass Pro didn't have one....not sure how I'm installing it....kind of making it up! Looks like I'm going to have to order one. Back to the shop....

Ok I got everything done except the walk door and the big door. I'll work on that tomorrow night....I was getting tired and making bad decisions...time to call it quits for the night. I hope to pick up the paint tomorrow too...getting close! Here are the pics.....I have a video I'll post later.

Love the booth. My thought was to take a large bolt with some washers on either end and screw it down to flare the end. I would first tighten it over a pipe to make the washers slightly bent to help the flare.

I saw a guy put one in with a ball peen hammer once. He just backed it up where it wouldn't move on the preflanged side, then started slowly tapping the edge over with the hammer. They make a flanging tool similar to your washer and bolt idea. It cost $60 by the time you pay for shipping. I'm sure it would be great, but not $60 worth!

Hey arch.
Great job on the booth and the video.
That booth should allow you to paint like a pro. Very nice.
As for the flanging tool. I find it funny that you have to pay so much for the tool to flange a $3.00 part. Maybe we should all go together and buy one a then pass it around.
Believe it or not this stupid cold weather even followed me to Mexico.

Ok, I figured out how to delay the drain tube install...so I'll get the flange tool and we can have the communal I-boats flange tool! Frisco you in?

I finished the paint booth tonight, only took one trip to H.D. I pressure tested the booth (turned on the fans and the roof plastic popped up), then tested the intake volume (lit a match and checked to see if the smoke got sucked in)....Houston we are a go!

Here are the pics of the finished doors. Notice the high tech closer on the walk door.

The blue filters are sexy huh? I can already tell the next two days are going to be long!

Hey Arch,
Where do I send the check for the flange tool?
I really like the color scheme on the booth so far. When you accent it with the red and silver it will really stand out.
The booth really looks great.
