Well, my friend, That really doesn't look like the same boat. I can't believe the difference. It turned out awesome, just like I knew it would.
That is one boat, you can be proud of for a very long time.

Thanks everyone....it was a long day, but all the prep was llloooooooonnnnnggggger! All the sanding and grinding payed off. I also want to thank my friend David K for helping today. He was a great help, couldn't have pulled it off without him!

Sorry Caravandaddy, I didn't get any shooting it....It was about a 7 hour process....if I had done video most of the audio would have been a bleeeeepppp.....just a quick and dirty, this is a DuPont base clear system. You shoot the base colors, then top it with a clear coat. It works great for stripes since the base drys in about 10 minutes and you can tape off stripes in about 30 minutes. We sprayed the silver base (two coats), ate lunch, then taped it off. Next we sprayed the red base (3 coats, reds don't cover well). Then waited for it to "tack up", then pulled the tape off the silver. After that I sprayed two coats of clear on it. Let me know if you have specific questions....I'd be happy to help.

All I have to say is WOW!!! I love that color. You have done a great job with this boat.

I got a question. How are you going to blend the top of the paint to the bottom? Is it on a tape line?

We stopped the paint at the rub rail. Once I have the trailer painted and finished up (Mick is very excited about that ) I will flip it, put it on the trailer and repeat the process on the top. Then I have to figure out how to get the new rub rail on without scratching it, should be loads of fun!

Best paint job yet on iboats I do believe. I like the stripe much more in actuality than I did on the mock-up. Looks great.

Very nice job, Want to come paint my graphix and trailer for me? After all the gelcoat I forgot how much easier paint is in the fact that once it is sprayed it is done. Although I did colorsand and buff my thunderbird. I cant see any orangepeel from here. Is there any?

My favorite color is red anyways but I can't imagine anyone topping your paint job.
