    That pic before or after you ran it? Wrong bearing clearance will mess up a newly machined journal. Are those rods not the ones that came out of that block, originally?

    Something is wrong with the plug wires orientation or the timing light, or the wrong balancer or pointer. I don't think a sbc will run at 33 degrees.     Unless that specific boat has some kind of sentimental value, I would find a better hull to invest that kind of time and money. But, that's just my opinion and you know what they say about those.

    Cap and wires aren't going to fix that. It sounds like a compression leak, somewhere. If not from the plugs than maybe the exhaust manifold or it's gasket. Or, is that a metal to metal sound? Hard to tell from the video.
