Part of my Inner Transom is Rotted.

I was getting about 6 gallons or so of water in my boat after 5 hours on the water. I hadn't noticed any leaks till I discovered that the inside of the transom mount area was rotted on one side. So i went on the back of the boat (dry land) and tapped all around the transom/bell housing, one side is pretty solid and the other side sounds hollow. Is there a way to repair it, or do I have to remove the whole transom. I saw a product called Git Rot online that was interesting. Anyhow, your thoughts on the repair. I will upload some photos shortly.

Git Rot will not displace water, so with wood being wet it's useless IMO

Once transom has gotten soft it needs to be replaced

Nothing I know of will repair a rotten bit of wood, replacement is the only option..

Pretty sure someone mentioned this to you before you started pulling the motor, etc.
