Can't get over 2k on water

That just confirms you have fuel pressure. Still could be a carb.

    2000 Mercury 90hp 4 stroke pro series

Normally, water in the oil is caused by a blown head gasket. As noted already, a compression/leakdown test will confirm it. If you have a bad head gasket, water may be getting into the combustion chamber. Basically putting out the fire in that cylinder(s). New carbs are super expensive...

Can't get over 2k on water

Are you sure you don't have a carb that is not performing under load? Have you tried having somebody squeeze the primer bulb while it's doing it?

    Mariner 60 No Spark

Get a Mercury service manual. It tells you how to test the ignition system

Sport Jet 175 xr2 - low compression in one cylinder

I forgot you have a sportjet so you cannot tilt the motor.

4 stroke 9.9hp fires up then dies

Sounds like a bad fuel pump.

Sport Jet 175 xr2 - low compression in one cylinder

Yes, in the spark plug hole. I'd tilt the motor up fully and turn/tilt it so the offending cylinder is as close to level as possible. Get the piston towards the top of it's stroke so the powertune doesn't just run into the ports. Then spray some powertune in and let it sit over night. Then...

Sport Jet 175 xr2 - low compression in one cylinder

How about try a piston soak with powertune? Might free up the rings?

Should I opt for oil delete? confused. seeking expert consult

To correct a pull, the first thing to do is trim the motor. If you don't like the trim setting necessary to even the steering out then adjust the trim tab.

Low operating temperature in a Mercury 90

This is what I have connected to my 100 hp 4 cylinder. Works perfect with the built-in sending unit. Faria Euro Black 2" Cylinder Head Temp Gauge (60 - 220 F) 12819

Should I opt for oil delete? confused. seeking expert consult

If you can't get a new oil tank/sensor, it would be better to disconnect the wire going to the warning module than to convert to manual oil mix.

    88 Merc 100hp Electrical issues

I would take a resistance reading from motor ground to the ground at the cluster. Then also watch the reading while moving the wiring, looking for deflection.

    88 Merc 100hp Electrical issues

I have the same boat. Sounds like you have an intermittent connection. What about the main battery cable to the battery? Maybe the key switch? I would put a volt meter on the 12 volt line in the gauge cluster and start pushing on all wiring till you see a deflection.

Mercury 110 (1971?) - common repair items on this engine?

I had one of these. The main issue I had was all the ignition/electrical wiring decomposed.

    115 mercury carb problems

Since nobody else has offered any help, I'll take a stab at it. I'm thinking leaking lower crankshaft seal?

    2000 4 Stroke Mercury 40hp No Spark #2 cylinder

Then why don't the manufacturers simply state their test voltages in RMS?

    75 3 cyl running on 2 cylinders

I guess it's possible low fuel pump pressure could be impacting the top carb more than the others. Try pumping the primer bulb while idling/running. Does it make a difference?

    2000 4 Stroke Mercury 40hp No Spark #2 cylinder

My guess is it's wanting you to test the output from the switchbox to the primary side of each coil.

    2000 4 Stroke Mercury 40hp No Spark #2 cylinder

I don't have the answer for that one but how were you able to build a DVA?
