Pretty sure that motor uses a rectifier only. So higher voltages are normal make sure you are using a good non sealed standard battery. That style rectifier uses the battery as the regulator so you need to be able to refill it.
You do realize how old that 4 cylinder design is don't you? And hard to believe it only used 3 gallons of gas in 4hrs of hard running. If your top Rpm at full throttle is only 4700-4800 rpm you might need a different prop.
O rings being bad makes no sense at all. If the orings were bad and the fuel pump good gas would be shooting everywhere. What is your compression? Do you have spark on all cylinders? The fact it only runs if you pump the ball points directly to the fuel pump. Fuel side rebuild kits are around...
Yes there is only one. That needs to be in 1 piece does it have a clear covering on it? Do both carbs move at the same time. Maybe time for you to invest in a factory manual.
