    What Rev sensor? Any over Rev protection on that motor would kick in at around 5300 rpm. Get a factory manual and read it front to back. Or find a dealer familiar with the 2+2 motor. Dog clutch has nothing to do with your problem. Get a manual

    + (red) goes to the starter solenoid. - (negative) goes to the block probably a stud on the exhaust cover.

    Did you take the washer off? You take the bolt out remove the washer and put the bolt back in tight.

    He did not cancel it he sold it. The outboard division was the only profitable part of Chrysler. People forget Chrysler was for all intents and purposes bankrupt.

    Is the motor running Hot? I would pull the lower to make sure the water tube is lined up.

    And as far as people thinking the Chrysler/Force outboards were junk. Remember this, At the time Chrysler sold the outboard division, it was the only profitable division of Chrysler. People were buying outboards from the showroom instead of their Cars.

    Is the lower unit in the pic off the 1973 65 hp? If it is I believe it is off of at least a 78 or newer motor and should work fine. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

    That is mainly the Chrysler motor. It's as good as anybody else's just an older design. The problem is that Mercury owned them and Mercury sucks at carrying parts. Pretty sure that is the motor Mercury jacked the impeller price up to $180 for a piece of rubber. So evaluate it carefully before...

    That is not what happend at all. U.S. MARINE bought Chrysler and changed the name to force in the late 70s early 80s. Brunswick bought US marine in the early 90s and kept the name.
