    Oil Change question

Two types of countries in this world. a) Those that have returned men from the moon, and b) those who use metric... :-) Anyway, oil pressure... entirely normal to see higher pressure after a change. That is a GOOD thing, your old oil had sheared down in grade, new oil is thicker.

Boat switch panel and mystery button

That isn't factory, so no way for any one to tell you definitively. Start tracing wires. Although if you have never used it, probably don't need it!

Mercury MCM165 6CYL 250CID Exhaust Riser for Holley Sniper

Didn't know O2 sensors don't like high temp... I do know they have to be at 650 degrees to even get a reading, and usually heat themselves to around 1300. In my previous heavily tuned car, there was an O2 sensor between the valves and the turbo. EGT in that area was around 1650 degrees...

    Battery Advice

I wouldn't get hung up on brand. Very likely the Interstate battery and the Walmart are made side by side in a Johnson controls factory. In fact, my oldest battery in any vehicle I have right now is a dirt cheap Walmart Value Power. But with the said, stick with the recommendations for the...

Trailer Plates and buying boat hours away?

If your state ties registration to a trailer plate, i would NOT swap it! The penalty for swapping plates is pretty severe, much worse than running without. I'd just run without a plate and keep your paperwork.

    gas prices

Boat hasn't seen water this season yet. Glad I didn't drop it in, night time lows are predicted to be 29 degrees. (today was 35 mph wind and a high of 43 degrees) Strange season indeed!

    Why is my carb oxidizing????

Corrosion is a chemical reaction, and oxidation dramatically slows down when it is cold out. Heating your storage without fixing whatever is causing that will make it worse, not better!

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

Just try it and see.... Towing is 90% driver, 10% vehicle. I've towed WAY beyond the vehicle limits, and was safe the entire time, but... You need to be slow, methodical, and plan your moves 10 steps ahead. Unloading won't be an issue, but if you can't pull it out when loading, no big deal...

    Anchor line/rode size

Since we are splitting hairs, the line is still a line. The rode is the entire assembly including the chain. :)

    Anchor line/rode size

OK, i'll bite... The top 20 google sites all say rope is basically line without a purpose. Line being a nautical term for rope that does something.. You attach rope to an anchor, at which point it becomes line. Unless I'm completely missing something, technically anchor 'line' would only be...

Is 17ft long enough for a tournament bass boat?

Learned all kinds of new things! Never realized that bass were that picky, that not only the bait matters, but also the size of the boat.

Wonder if I should go IO again or go OB?

Lou C's post above summed it up perfectly! I've owned both, current boat is a Hurricane deckboat with a 4.3l I/O. It does not have a sun pad, it has a doghouse that folds forwards and gives extremely good access to the engine. I've swapped the starter in 15 minutes, try doing that on a modern...

PLEASE HELP NEW BOAT OWNER CRACK

I'm wondering if that is freeze damage from a ton of water in the drive... if that is the case, welding isn't going to do anything, the drive (upper and lower) is done for.

hooking up 4stroke kicker to existing fuel tank (starcraft islander)

Not having dual pickups is highly unusual on a motorhome! They are almost always set up so the pickup for the genny is higher than the main engine. Done that way so it is impossible for a generator to empty your tank and leave you sitting.

    Lost Keys for Older Boat

1984 lock cylinder... That has seen a ton of water/salt/sand. A brand new Sierra one is $22. Just replace it!

    Low Trailer- Steep Driveway Problem

I wouldn't do the rollers, you are putting pressure on areas not meant to have weight. Bigger tires &/or change the angle of your receiver hitch. Lower it if it drags the back of the trailer. Or just keep the 2x12's handy, probably the easiest solution!

    Mercruiser 4.3 carb weep

Just came in here to say that even the manufacturers call it sealant... ;-) (Seal is mentioned 14 times by the mfg, lube isn't mentioned once.) https://cleanfit.com/blue_monster_ptfe_thread_seal_tape_70885.shtml It does both. If you needed a lubricant only, there are MUCH better lubricants...

Mc-1 wont go all the way

Need to grease the tool to tell you much. You need to see how much of the splines are engaging. But with that said, have you tried putting pressure on the prop to spin the shaft a little bit? I'm 50/50 on reinstalling. Sometimes it drops right in, other times I fight it for an hour or more...

    Towing more than capacity?

How far are you towing? I've towed FAR above the vehicle rating more times than I can count, but... on a 1/2 mile gravel road at 10 mph.
