I didn't get this far with mine, lol. Jerry will probably see this early in the morning if you want to be sure and ask him.....but I don't see any other way to do it.
Good job! The little black seal in that hexagon shaped part....use a pick to get it out....then put one of those red ones in there.
Three more to go......and great idea using the heat gun.
Yes. Be careful because when the cap lets loose if will fly away.....put a towel over it or something to catch it. Member 59Hustler did this not too long ago. He was outside....when the cap came flying off he had a heck of a time finding the parts. Using the panel clip pliers, washers, and...
https://forums.iboats.com/threads/some-hints-on-the-t-t-repairing-the-relief-valve.697972/ Look at this thread by Jerry....the valves have to come apart.....without damaging them. He used some panel clip pliers, washers, and heat to get them apart. It's all in that thread.....if the check...
Have owned my Chrysler since new (1978). In that time have rebuilt the powerhead and LU.....so far have been able to find every part needed for repairs. You are on your own with these old motors.....most shops will not even look at one, but that is pretty much the case with any old 2-stroke motor.
Do you have access to the top of your fuel tank? The fitting the fuel hose connects to.....it usually screws out and the tube comes out with the fitting.
I missed that when I read it.....the shaft the bendix rides on needs to be lubed every so often.....with a light oil. You may find serious corrosion when taken apart. As for the new bendix binding, may be a shim problem like brodmann said......
Reread post#8.....do another compression test, spark test. Did you put in a new pump diaphragm? If the fuel hoses are old I would replace them, along with the primer bulb.....make sure the fuel vent on the permanent tank is not clogged up....insects and mud daubers can plug them up. Carbs...
ARCO is a pretty good brand from what I have heard.....you might try calling their customer service and tell them about your problem....may be defective? Is not a stator issue.....is your battery good....load tested?
What brand of starter did you get? And was the old starter the original factory one?
A lot of the new starters available out there are cheap Chinese junk....a better option is to clean/rebuild the orig factory starter.....usually all they need is a good cleaning and maybe new brushes.
Sounds like you got 5/16 fuel hose then.....
Did you see the posts above about the thermo switch? You could try grounding the wire coming off the switch to see if you have a working buzzer or not. If not, I would fix that.....is the only warning you will get for an over heat, unless you have a...
That G2 you said is close to you will work if you have 5/16 hose......and $3.73 CAD sounds cheap.
You might try looking at your local auto parts store too....
The G12 is 5/16 also but a little bigger than the G2....couldn't find a Fram 1/4 inch model.....
It depends on what your fuel hose size is....
GKI GF61PL is for 5/16, GKI GF69PL is 3/8, GKI GF68PL is 1/4
Fram G2 is for 5/16, G3 is for 3/8......what size fuel hose do you have?
Have you tried googling Mercury, Quicksilver, marineengine.com, Crowley Marine, boats.net, ebay(with part#) to name a few.....with the year, make, HP, and serial number you should be able to find it with no problem. It aint that hard.....
