    is it worth trying

    You can buy a decent used motor for under 5k and just clean the fuel system. Check the transom and floor for soft spots first though before you get into it that can add another 4k if you cant do it. If you can about 1k in materials.

    Look at the transom. Make sure before you do anything with the flooring that its in good shape if not it changes anything.. Make sure you dont have any soft spots in the floor if so thats a good sign there was water intrusion or stored improperly. Does the engine run? OMC is hard to find parts...

This would be good I would even maybe buy some biaxle fiberglass and soak that into it. I would wrap the entire piece of wood edges and all before putting it on top of the foam...
