Last winter I had an issue with the tarp I cover the boat with and it resulted in a bad spot on the floor from water damage. I've cut out the bad area and have a patch ready to go in.

My question is once I get the wood in how can I seal the deck before I cover it? I've purchased some of that EVA foam boat decking from Amazon to go over the top so I'll need a nice smooth surface. Is there anything I can get locally at Home Depot?

Hey Moonstation,
Home Depot or menards should have some type of epoxy for flooring near me its approx: $70 a gallon. This would be good I would even maybe buy some biaxle fiberglass and soak that into it. I would wrap the entire piece of wood edges and all before putting it on top of the foam then you wont have to worry about it for years to come. If water does penetrate the closed cell foam then this will prevent the rot from happening.
