    Trim tab pump and control

Here is what I believe should be: Also, Add some shrink tubing over those diodes / connections to prevent short circuits and bigger problems Also again: Make sure that port connection for hydraulic line is securely plugged on front of pump.

    Trim tab pump and control

That red wire from the Bennet should not be connected to anything. The red wire from the ProTrim should go to a 20 amp fuse powered from the battery. The voltage drop comes from that Bennett red wire circuit goes through solenoids. That is where your problem lies, me thinks. I will make a...

    Trim tab pump and control

I see what is going on here. Here is the ProTrim diagram. The green is down (deploy) and the blue wire is up (retract). If either the up or down are powered, the diodes power the stbd circuit. Green from the ProTrim is down - connected to pump blue (deploy) Blue from ProTrim is up - connected...

    Trim tab pump and control

Disregard what I posted earlier. That assumption was not correct.

    Trim tab pump and control

Here is what the colors are for on the Bennett System: I have yet to find the wiring for that ProTrim switch to try to figure out what was exactly done using the diodes.. It would seem as though the proper way would be to disable either the port (red) or stbd (green) circuit and use the...

    Trim tab pump and control

I haven't figured out the reasoning for the diodes. Need to find the info on that controller.

    Lowering the bunks . . .

Does your trailer have target bunks for the front part of the keel on the front? Could you possibly use a loner trailer tongue? I have seen tongue extensions that are used for shallow launch ramps to get trailer out deeper.

    Lowering the bunks . . .

OK, I see what you were saying. When you mentioned launching and retreiving, sounded like when backing down the ramp. If you have discs, the bleed off / block valve (connected to the back up lights) may be malfunctioning, preventing the surge coupler from applying the brakes is where I would...

    Mercruiser trim pump issue

The creaping back up may be air in the system. The dash meter jumping thing is normal when engine is running and there is a drain on battery from high electrical load being used.

    Lowering the bunks . . .

When you say you see much braking in launch or retrieval, are you questioning brake action when backing up? Please disregard if I read that wrong. There won't be any braking in reverse with surge brakes. I eliminated the surge coupler and went with EoH to have braking in reverse.

    Popped through the intake.

How old is the fuel? Has the fuel / water separator been changed? Take a fuel sample and see if there is any water in it.

Bravo shifter / throttle install on a gen 2???

What boat / engine ( I see it's an Alpha gen 2 ) we talking about here. A little clarity will go a long way. Pictures of what you have vs what you want help too. We are basically guessing here. Are you talking about cables when you say replacing a "alpha style" with a "bravo style"? 99.9%...

Thunderbolt IV 4'' box module wiring

Since you provided very little to no info on what you actually have, here is the general Thunderbolt 4 wiring, as requested. This is an Alpha. Bravo is same without the cut out switch. I would ground to a bolt on the intake or block, eliminating at least 3 possible joints / points of failure...

    Dust Cap Woes

Let's go about this in logical steps. I am curious, as I have never had a cap fly off a hub on any vehicle or trailer. Can you take a measurement of the ID of the hub, where cap sits, with a caliper and post what it is. Then post what the OD of the cap is. Either the hub is out of spec, or the...

Bravo shifter / throttle install on a gen 2???

I see what is going on. You would need a dual control station one handle for shift and one for throttle. It's not a Bravo vs Alpha thing, as the 2 are the same, controller wise. It's the design and method of control at the engine that changes.

    Dust Cap Woes

You can use permatex hardening gasket sealer on them. After it dries, they will stay put.

    Antiseize on sparkplug threads

Have always used a dab of antiseize on spark plugs, especially on aluminum heads. Just be careful with aluminum heads and the type you use. Use very sparingly.

Where’s the gas gauge sending unit ?

Fuel gauge sender will be near where the hoses attach to the fuel tank. Follow the hoses to tank and you'll find the sender.

Will gauge lighting work off SPDT switch?

Yes, gauge lighting will work off any kind of switch, unless there is some exotic lighting system / control . Sperate circuits are best. PS: lots of boat manufacturers don't use a switch for gauge lighting. They just run it off ignition switch.
