Bravo shifter / throttle install on a gen 2???

Is there a way to install a separate forward/reverse shifter and have a throttle only on a Alpha One Gen Two like a Bravo has? I can't see why not, but can't find any info.
With how much our lake feels like an ocean, I'd love to be able to idle and just shift forward and reverse without the long throw of a typical throttle/shifter assembly. I have a Bravo shifter assembly and the cables as well as the mounting bracket for I believe the throttle side.

Seriously? I can't find anything about it and figured maybe the brackets and cables would be of different lengths or something for the different shifters / drives.

Well shoot, I googled Bravo shifter with gen two drive and found nothing. Apparently it's not a "bravo" shifter.

I see what is going on. You would need a dual control station one handle for shift and one for throttle.

It's not a Bravo vs Alpha thing, as the 2 are the same, controller wise. It's the design and method of control at the engine that changes.

Ok, so will I need custom cables adapters at the throttle / gear selector or at the engine / transom, or will they operate correctly by just replacing a "alpha style" with a "bravo style". Like, the throw of the cables will be correct?

What boat / engine ( I see it's an Alpha gen 2 ) we talking about here. A little clarity will go a long way. Pictures of what you have vs what you want help too. We are basically guessing here.

Are you talking about cables when you say replacing a "alpha style" with a "bravo style"?

99.9% of the controllers are the same for all Mercruiser drives, just different "styles" and how old they are. But functionally the same if talking about a single control.

Same "type" cables, different lengths and end connections on engine side / same ends on control side. No adapters, just get the correct cables with correct ends.

the controls do not know they are on an alpha drive, Bravo drive, OMC drive, Volvo drive, etc. the only one in the world calling them alpha style or bravo style is you. is single lever vs dual lever

however keep in mind, you still have to drop the throttle all the way to idle to shift on an alpha. not sure what the advantage of dual lever controls would be on an alpha drive over a single lever? usually you put dual lever controls on drives with cone clutches, and it is usually with twins to allow docking
