    Inoperative Gauges

There should be a fuse for the gauges. My last boat, a Chaparral, had one. They make those wire harnesses pretty tight and a crappy / loose connection on a wire terminal is not unheard of.

    Tach for a Sea Pro

From what I found, SeaPro uses Telflex for the tach's. Just a std tach. Only caviate is the one's with the alarm telltale lamps in them are hard to find.

Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha One Gen 2 Barrel

Perhaps I am unsure what point you are trying to make, but...... Ummmm. The muffs are run on a garden hose under pressure. Therefore, the raw water pump wouldn't need to pull a suction to draw water (lift) to prime it. The hose pressure forces the water to the pump to prime it.

    4.3 Carb…What’s That Hose?

Safety inspections will specifically look for the yellow tinted hose to ensure it's fuel proof. Clear Tygon will stand up to the fuels, but the cheapo PVC clear tubing (same stuff they sell for fish tanks) also available in the HW stores wont do well with the chemicals. Problem is, it's hard to...

    4.3 Carb…What’s That Hose?

Yup, clear so you can see if there is fuel in it, but don't use the clear hose you find at the hardware store on the reels. That hose is yellow so the know it's approved hose by a quick glance.

Mercruiser hose hanging from exterior transom components

Yup. speedo pitot fitting (for the in-dash speedometer). But, it is broken off where it plugs into lower unit, meaning the other half is probably still in there. Probable cause was removing drive unit, not realizing it was inplace there (or it was caught up on something else during removal) and...

    Trailer Brakes

Never enough time or money to do it right the 1st time, but always enough to do it again. Been the credo my entire engineer life. Always liked this one too: Contractor's credo, You can have it done fast, have it done right or have it done cheaply. Choose two because all three are not doable.

    Coolant Disappearing, need help

There, fixed it: Coolant has 3 places to go when level is going down. 1. In the engine (head gasket or crack or manifold) 2. In the bilge (hose, fitting, crack (again) or radiator cap) 3. In the exhaust (crack again (manifold, but that would show in the engine through exhaust ports) or leaking...

    Coolant Disappearing, need help

Until he does a pressure test and the stuff mentioned here, there is not a lot of use rehashing everything. Everything can't be okey dokey and coolant still vanishing unless it's something obvious like a bad radiator cap blowing off early / when pressure rises for a few minutes after shut off.

Dark gel coat with white rub marks from black bumper. Seems like they are under the surface.

Try a boat polishing compound first. Have had great luck with Meguires One Step compound: https://www.amazon.com/MEGUIARS-M6701-Step-Compound-1-Gallon/dp/B00029CYRG?th=1
