    hydraulic steering swap

I'd contact Vevor and ask about fitment?? Hyd. steering is a great addition to any boat, however it can mask a problem with the motor locking up and being hard to turn. 99% who own a boat don't have a grease gun or know how to use one. Hyd. steering will MAKE the motor turn because of the...

1988 50 hp force no spark?

The original is a 6 wire. It worked on all the bigger Force's 50 up to 150 The 4 wire is an aftermarket , probably CDI. The Force motors came with a wiring diagram on the motor(unless someone removed it??) The color code changed and made it confusing.

    tilt & trim

The T@T is a 2 part system. The trim operates until fully extended then the tilt takes over. The shock cykinder is just that a shock and it doesn't do anything to help the T@T function.

    Need help with the starter

The starters on my 1988/85 twins: had the boat 30 years and the starters were rebuilt many times. Every 2 years they would get broken down and cleaned and new brushes installed if needed. Topgun's right Chinee crap.

    Force 120 compatability

Yes that might be possible. I've not done it myself. The things like the water pickup would need to be fit.

    Force 120 compatability

The drive came in 20 and 25 " The older models came in a 2 piece configuration. The shaft on these is a one piece. The parts can interchange if you have the service manual and some tools.

    Need help with the starter

Up inside the outboard starter bendix is a rubber shock like you have in your propeller. It's encased in the brass bell.

1997 Mercury Force 120 - Loss of Power - Hard to Start

To test he fuel pump: take it apart, take pics and watch the arrows when reassembling. If it backfired at any time?? then it might have blown a gasket or 2 The port cover gaskets can pop out on the edges and suck air. Starting Fluid test. Start the motor and spray starting fluid around the...

    Need help with the starter

Be careful when lubing the bendix. Too much grease can ruin it. One tiny bit of grease on the rubber up in the bendix will destroy it. Clean the worm gear and lube it, just don't over do it.\ That starter is real easy to open and clean. You'd be surprised how much crud ends up in the bottom...

1994 115 P115TLRS 060713 Steering is VERRRRY tight, tried to use heat and add grease and it still is very tight. I don't have a service manual. I know it's a big job, any tips or procedures to fix the kingpin and bushings?? Thanks

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

Jumper cables won't provide enough power to turn the starter while on the motor, unless you have #4/2/00 size wire for jumper cables. Then the clamps need to be HEAVY DUTY too. The battery? load test it?? Battery testers about 25$ at Harbor Freight. That's one of the tools they sell that...

    Force 120 compatability

What's the years on the motors?? Looks like they are both close as both use mainly Mercury equipment(pack/coils etc.) The lower units are different in the shaft they use. 5" difference. If you post the year of the 2nd motor I can compare the parts and see if the shafts can interchange.

Force 150 hp won’t shift properly in forward?

Does it shift when the linkage is unhooked?? Motor running? needs to run to allow shifting. Unhook it and shift by hand, as you shift turn the prop as it needs to move to allow the gear/dog to mesh.
