    200hp efi overheating

Unfortunately, a compression check doesn't always find head gasket leaks. However, do the compression check and maybe it will be obvious. Check the torque on the head bolts as well. Those V6 motors had a habit of the head bolts loosening up.

Mercury 1996 60 hp running only on middle cylinder

Gee, if you have fuel, compression and spark, maybe the spark plug wires are arcing to ground, or you are getting water in the cylinders that don't fire. That is if they are not flooded with fuel.

Distance from lower gear case to prop

I would expect that motor to use a standard OB gearcase. Maybe a 1990 115HP one? It is a guess. https://www.sterndrive.cc/product/90-304-A.html

Question regarding wiring up a carter electric fuel pump

Gee, I also think your wiring will provide power to the starter solenoid whenever the key is on. You might grab a wiring diagram from a late model MerCruiser and see how they did it. That should be avail on the web.

    200hp efi overheating

Compression leaks causes overheating. Are you sure the head gasket you replaced is not leaking? Did you check the head and block for flatness?

Distance from lower gear case to prop

Gee, I am not sure what engine you have. Sterndrive engineering (SEI) makes gearcases for popular motors, including Johnnyrudes.

Need Replacement Lower Unit for Evinrude E70PL4EEC, 70HP,4 stroke, 1999 rebuilt or new

SEI is Sterndrive Engineering. They make replacement parts and gearcases for popular motors.

Distance from lower gear case to prop

Are the splines holding the prop in that spot? I had to drill out some of the splines on my Merc prop to make it fit the Johnnyrude.

Distance from lower gear case to prop

Clearly that is not correct. I have used Merc props on my Johnnyrude, and vise versa, so if the hub is the correct size and the driveshaft diameter and splines are the same, it will work. It doesn't look like your propshaft size is correct, however. I had to grind down the inside of a thrust...

    1996 150 grease points

Look up a hydraulic steering system and see the cylinder it has at the motor. Do you have something like that? Calbe steering doesn't have a cylinder at the motor.

    changing pitch

Generally, yes, a prop shop can do that. They will also usually stamp the prop with the new pitch.

When do you replace the bellows? '01 Alpha One Gen 2

I would recommend a service manual, as the replacement procedure is tricky. Mark or remember the position of the hose clamps on the bellows, as you will want to put them back the same way. Use the bellows adhesive. A blunt tire iron is good for pushing the bellows onto it's seat.

1992 Carver Montego SR8 - shift lever problem

You might U/L a picture of the control. Sometimes the throttle handle has to come off. Others the throttle only button. However, it is hard to tell w/o photo.

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

Great, how exactly do you get the tranny fluid out of the crankcase? That is where it will end up, while soaking the pistons.

Distance from lower gear case to prop

So you are talking about a Johnnyrude thru the hub exhaust-style prop? The thrust washer keeps the prop from hitting the gearcase. The hub of the prop usually fits into the hub of the gearcase, with a tolerance of 1/8" of so. Is that what you are asking?

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

Gee, 2 cycle engines hate any metallic additives in their oils. That is why non-detergent motor oil is used as 2 cycle oil. I always thought that ATF had lots of metallic components as part of their additive package, especially the new stuff. Chain saws are one thing, but multicylinder high...

Has anybody painted their bilge glossy grey with the total boat epoxy?

Gee, doesn't anyone remember the "spackle" paint GM used in their trunks? It was likely all the exterior paint they had left over, mixed together.

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

Scott, In the olden days, did anyone mix tranny fluid with gas for 2 cycle outboards? I expect the additive package would be bad for them. Tranny fluid damaged the paint on my '69 Marquis. 2 cycle oil would never do that.

Is it Safe to boat, knowing you have partial rotten stringer?

It has a happy ending. After the repair the boat hull was good as new, and I used it for 3 more years before trading up. To complete the story, that boat seemed to have the "made on Friday" syndrome. Some parts of the boat were real good quality, and other parts were real low quality. i.e...
