No-one will give you a balls up straight answer on gas tank install here.
Do what makes you comfortable and safe.

some of us have been smelling fumes from spraying and are now on the 10th beer.

however fuel tank encapsulation should vent to the bilge

and you should have a sniffer to warn you if you have fumes

Thanks guys. Out of resin...AGAIN! Have 2 of the 5 deck pieces peanut buttered and screwed in. Gas tank portion is ready, but I think i will do it last, so the hoses are not in the way of tabbing the other pieces. Got a lot of little things done. Ski locker floor cut and glassed. Holes and slots for hoses cut. Garboard hole drilled out. 1 to 2 more days and I think I can have the deck in. Then on to tabbing, foaming, etc.

In studying, after peanut buttering the deck hull gap, I've seen the deck tabbed to the hull first then covered with CSM. Also seen it covered with CSM then tabbed to the deck over the mat. Which is best?

I am going to gelcoat the deck in the end. Almost to the point of glassing it. When doing so, I am going to do two layers or CSM and one layer of 6oz S Glass. I assume you will overlap, and butt up, each of the seams as you apply each individual layer. Then sand it smooth before you gelcoat? This correct?

The bow part of the deck is under the storage compartments. Is two layers of CSM here suffice? I am putting a layer of 6oz on the rest of the deck. The bow part won’t be seen.

I won't tell no-one!;)
Just know it has no strength benefit. So if you bump into a chop...

Planning on encapsulating the bow section with two layers of CSM? Screwing it to peanut buttered stringers. Peanut buttering the deck hull gap and tabbing it to the hull with a 6” then 12” strip of 1708. Strong enough without the final 6oz? Now is when not taking the cap off is a pain. Can’t get in there under the cap / bow walk way.

Thanks WOG. Thoughts on the bow portion of the deck? Add the the layer of 6oz to the two layers of CSM or no? All of you are much appreciated. Trying to finish by July.

you could put the layers on before you install the bow area. I believe it will be fine since the deck itself will give enough structural support. I highly doubt it was like this from factory. Looking at mine, the center was completely removable. there were just boards screwed down to cleats on each side. So I only had half a deck basically.

I like when others jump in. I certainly do! Thanks Chris.
