I need to redo floors on 2 boats and would like to do away with any wood. Is there anything people use for stringers that is made of fiberglass or otherwise lightweight and rot proof?
Also to glass on top of stringers do they sell fiberglass in sheets like 4 X 8 that is already stiff with resin? I'm wondering if those shower panels would be usable. I'm thinking lay one panel down and attach to the stringers, then a layer of mat and resin and then finish with another panel set in the resin finished side up. That should make for a 1/4" to 3/8" thick floor that wont rot.
Any help is appreciated.
