Due to an accident,myAquamax inflatable took a hit on the side of the transom. The impact popped the transom piece that was glued onto the port side tube. This is a pvc type boat. What kind of glue do you use for such repairs?
Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake
Just got in from vacation on the boat.Stopped at Lloyds creek on sunday and on tuesday morning, the tree for the swing was being cut down.
I had a small outboard motor stored on the back deck (fiberglass) and it leaked out of the lower unit a gas,oil and exhaust black puddle. I have tried various spray cleaners,a magic eraser, comet, etc but I can't seem to get the stain out.Any more suggestions?
Just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to shop through this site; I ordered some snappy teak cleaner on 1/18 late afternoon and it arrived this afternoon. I was surprised with the speed of delivery. Thanks again iboats.
It was a sad day today as we pulled my 33 Executive out and blocked her up in my yard.I powerwashed the bottom and winterized the engines and generator, etc. Now the fun begins as I need to rebuild or replace both motors. Thank you ethanol fuel.
Anyone on here own a Carver 28 Voyager or Mariner? I'm curious as to what props you are running and rpm/speed. I have twin 230's and running 18x18 4 blade michigan dyna quads. The boat turns 4900 rpm and goes 29 knots on gps. I think the rpms are kinda high and thinking of trying 18x20 3 blades...
Re: Carver owners....
Just bought a 1987 Carver 28 Voyager. Going smaller because my 33 Executive is too tall for the bridges an hour before and after high tide and still having to drop the canvas is a pain in the *****.
I pulled the props off the boat to get reconditioned and 1 of the strut bolts was missing. The top half was still in the boat so it wasn't leaking at the end of last season. Anyway, they are bronze bolts. Is it ok to use stainless bolts as bronze is hard to find around here? I want to replace all...
