That's definably an idea to consider.

Here is something I am messing around with in photo shop. I have the file as an 18" psd if anyone wants it to take to their local sign shop to make them a vinyl logo. Just PM me and I'll send it.

I also found this online. I won't post the link yet, because the guy has not confirmed he still has them available, but it looks as if he has logos for many motor types. He also sells paint and he is from Toronto. Less shipping for me.

The image is large, so I did not want to post it in here.

Going to meet Stu now to get the boat back and bring it home.

The Merc logos are excellent. They have other manufacturers as well.

Andy, the logo is sizable so don't give any credit to the one on that image. I was just fooling around with it to see if it would work out.

Well I got the boat back from Stu. Cash deal, no tax! YES! I am Jones-in to get it into the lake and see what she will do. I hope the 15 isn't to big for it. Time will tell.

yup, a 2 pound can will do the trick.

i did the seams from front to back all the way up the bow, and the seams around the transom and had just a little bit left.

2 pounds, thanks! I did not get to the Gluvit done yet. The marina was closed so I could not get it. I did get somethings done. New keel rollers on the trailer.

and some lights

I did start prep work on the hull and was able to bring life to these rail end pieces.

I took advantage of a great day weather wise and sanded, sanded, and sanded.

more later.

if the paint is in good enough shape you really dont even need to sand... just rough it up and paint over it.

Yup Andy, the paint was real good on it and that is exactly what I did. She has her first coat on it and I am letting it dry 72hrs before I hit it again. The roller-brush technique produced great results. I had to watch it like a hawk for runs and really put a thin coat on first. then there we these small bugs that like paint. agggg! This morning after a quick inspection, no bugs and no runs! :) Usually I rush through paint jobs but this time I took 9 hours total. The base color is like french vanilla ice cream. Over all I am real happy with it! That's what matters.

Sleepy day at work. Here is a graphic I am having done for it seeing as the original logo is gone on the port side. Since it will be a fishing boat, I want the fish to fear me. LOL

Yeah! Saucy!

Raining today.. bummer.

Here is after the 1st coat of paint.
She is looking great IMHO.

I'll sand her down again on the weekend and put another on. YES I know the numbers and old logo still need to come off. I plan on it on the weekend as well.

Re: Yet Another 16' Starcraft :0)

Good morning.
Quick question for you.

I will be installing the floor and then the Dek-Master (http://www.ducan.com)
Can I use bondo to fill in the cracks and knot holes in the plywood or is there a better way? I have never worked with fiberglass resin and the thought of it frightens me a bit.

Any advise?

Bill the resin really isnt that bad go for it . Bondo wont stay put to much flex in the boat. I would suggest you tru to put the wood side up with no knots if you can help it :D.
