My wife, soon to be daughters, has a Charger that gets around in the slop just as good as any front wheel drive. Granted, it has all the different traction controls on it. We don't add any weight either.... I remember buying a new '89 Firebird with low profile tires that got me around just fine. I don't think it even had ABS. Heck, it was more fun when winter hit. Played dirt track driver.....

Most people that have AWD/4WD don't realize that stopping is the problem and it's the same as a 2WD car.

most people who don't have 4WD, don't realize that very few 4X4 trucks are being driven in 4WD. especially if it is "blasting past" someone in a car. you can't go over 50 when in 4WD and honestly you very seldom need it.
the 4wd is used in very bad road conditions or when off road as a rule. This applies for most of the folks I know who own trucks. Of course there is always the idiot who just got a ew 4X4 and hasn't had one before. They tend to lock it in and go too fast for their driving abilities down the road, and yes to Bruce's point, they quickly realize they can't stop.

yep kids today think they invented drifting....ha ha ha we did every winter. LOL

I lived in Boston and drove a Porsche around all year for about 3 years. I never had an issue. Just know what a good idea is and what a bad idea is. I think what is happening is people with AWD/4X4 are causing the issues. Back in the day everyone had rear wheel drive which was lousy in the snow but every one went slow knowing this. Noe you get some guy in his AWD/4X4 blasting past someone in RWD looking at them like they are an idiot.

With that said I did have winter tires on my Porsche.

yep I mentioned a set of Blizzaks to a friend of mine who does the Mustang all year thing.
I used to go everywhere in a 2WD truck with snow tires on it. good tires will get you through a lot.

Full agreement x2 on the snow tires.
I used to competitively ice race in Ontario and the tires made all the difference....all of it. My 2wd car prepped with very high quality winter tires would easily leave my 4wd 4Runner with 'all seasons' in the dust....or snow as the case may be.
The biggest mistake people make when traction goes....is they hit the brakes. I always am amazed at the youtube videos showing people trying to navigate down an icy road...and all their wheels locked up....touch that brake...and you're done 90% of the time.
I guess this is often a very hard habit to brake (pardon the pun)...and winter/icy driving is a very hard skill to practice and learn most of the year I suppose.
Remember...there is NO such thing as 'All Season' tires....unless you live in Mexico City....Los Angeles...LOL.

So they now just cancelled school for tomorrow (Tuesday) as well. I stayed home form work since my boss let everyone know they could/should. I decided to do my quarterly taxes since I have the time and I just bought another Lamborghini for the government. I hope they enjoy it as much as I would.

So they now just cancelled school for tomorrow (Tuesday) as well. I stayed home form work since my boss let everyone know they could/should. I decided to do my quarterly taxes since I have the time and I just bought another Lamborghini for the government. I hope they enjoy it as much as I would.

They delayed school down here in Raleigh, NC by 2 hours because the low tonight is going to be 6

After seeing your post I decided to start checking WI. Some schools have closed up here too. Not my daughters yet.

Only got down to -29 last nite. High was -13 today with a windchill around -40.

1. When will men start shaving again? Sans: "fashionista three day beard". To me, that just says, "I don't give a dam-in your face-deal with it". You tryiing to sell me something with a "fashionista beard" just went to ZERO!
2. Men tucking in your shirts. You look like an idiot with a shirt tail hanging out. Buy a shirt you CAN'T tuck in. Even more stupid is tuck in shirts hangin below short sweaters. Same selling with shirt out.

Just a rant. I am sick and tired of the American public looking like they just got off of a refuge boat.

LOL I have to admit, I don't think the beard will last much longer. I've never let it go before so wanted to try it. way too gray. LOL

ewww shower is a must, I do not like smelling BO on me or others.

Beard starts first snowfall or Nov#1, what ever comes first
Comes off when I can see the grass over the septic tank and ice melting on the driveway, when you work outside in the winter that hair does make a difference.
