Don't let Fixin near the voting booth. He's a danger to himself as well as to others. He's got a horrible case of Ratheritis. :D

I ask you how much better your life could have been if you didnt have a union to look after your interests. How do you know??? You dont.

Why dont you give it a try in the rest of this world where we work hard for our money and earn it because of our individual performance.

P.S. Dont believe everything you hear in a commercial that ends with "paid for the (insert nondescript name here) committee"

Ken

Re: Who will you vote for?

Well, there was ONE president who entirely avoided all the partisan nonsense. GW. (George Washington)
Fixin, the rest of us work for a living too. I also am a union member, only because I work in a closed shop. They have done little for me besides cause untold aggravation. The local folks are OK because they are more moderate as is the community I work in, but the regional & state folks are 99% socialist, philosophically. The reason so many are conservative around here is that we work hard for our money, and we get awful tired of liberal elected officials taking all they can away from us only to spend it on things that benefit mainly those who they want to vote for them again. (notice I said liberal, not Democrat- the underlying philosopy is the issue not the label) How ironic that the first half of democrat president JFK's immortal phrase starts out "Ask not what your country can do for you..." yet it is the left who is all gung ho about entitlements & more money to give away to those who want the government to "do for them". Sorry, their actions speak much louder than their words in the economic arena. I bet even JFK is spinning in his grave. Today he would be ridiculed for being a conservative next to today's democrat.

Ah yes, 68% is impressive, and just about par for the course for this board.. But remember, this is only the popular vote, so let us not count our chickens before they've hatched... The iboats electoral vote has not been talleyed up as of yet... :p

Would'nt that just beat all if Kerry were to "steal the election" by winning the electoral vote and loose the popular vote... Would'nt that be the iceing on the cake... I can hear the right wingers crying fowl right now... :D "re-count, re-count, re-count, we wanna re-count".... :p

Think i'll go vote again.. :p

Re: Who will you vote for?

Oh Snapperbait, how short your memory! Being the astute student of politics that you claim to be, YOU should remember that Dear Old D1ck Nixon a Republican), say what you will about him, could have won the popular, vote in 1960, and still lost the election.

It was widely accepted that voting corruption was so rampant in Cook County, Ill. (chicago & environs, Remember Mayor Dailey?) that had D1ck called for a recount it would have put him over the top, nationally, for the popular vote. Now D1ck knew, what too many of you refuse to accept, that the Electoral College was a proper and necessary part of our election process.

He also knew that if the corrupt votes had been nulified, he would not have gained any electoral votes. So he said "what's the point?" He did not want to throw this nation into an uproar. Now, to me, that does not sound like the whining Me, Me, Me, Democrat that we so recently witnessed. Nor does it add to the validity of what you claim the Republicans would do today.

Be sure to wipe your chads clean, ya'll!

Well said.
Its amazing how it was covered up at the time and everyone forgot or believed the main stream news.
Last year Mory Prov was interviewing two political annalists, one of each party about the difference between Al Gore in 2000 and the Nixon election. Both partys agreed Nixon took the high road and both admitted the election was fixed and he knew it.

On the other remarks about not re-electing President Bush.

A: If you dont think he is the man for the job at hand then dont vote for him (simple) Better yet dont vote at all to show your disgust for the whole system :)

B: If you do think he is the right man then re-elect him and let him take off the gloves since he wont have a election to win again to finish the job! Better yet vote twice :D

Now to go borrow Bassys little guy

Bush 70% (51)
Kerry 15% (11)
Other Candidate 4% (3)
Not sure yet / Undecided 11% (8)

I will continue to vote for anyone I believe will keep the streets of America from becoming the streets of Sarajevo.

I am extremely passionate about this. We all should be. Our children and our children's children depend on it.

I assume, LadyFish, that you are refering to the continued efforts, on behalf of a certain political party, to balkanize this country to the point of open class/ethnic warfare on the streets of America.

Re: Who will you vote for?

Oh Boomyal... :) Never said I was an "astute student of politics", just call it like I see it yano, and 1960/Tricky D!ck/Kennedy election was way before my time...

That being said, Nixon was a complex and interesting charicter, to say the least.. Honestly, from what i've read and seen, I don't really have a negative or positive opinion on the man.. As president, like most, he did some good, some not so good, and some down right stupid things..

Anyway, that was then, this is now, and the stakes are much higher... Things and people are different now... IMO... I believe that if a close election were to occour, along with some shananagans like what occoured in 2000, and Kerry won with the electoral votes and Bush with the popular vote, the GOP and Bush would be in a total uproar claiming all kinds of nonsense... They would not concede defeat quietly... Course this is just my speculation.. Who knows what'll happen between now and the election, or after...

Now Boomyal, you remeber to pull that big R lever, ya'll.... :p

We'll get you special dispensation 62_Kiwi. We'll take any conservative rednecks, especially from amongst our good cousins. There seems to be too few of you these days. We may have to give you the 2nd Amendment test first, however! :D
