Fort Worth, Texas, expatriated from Riverside, California in 1995.

Lake Tawakoni is a fantastic striper lake. I have fished it several times and have never been disappointed.

Here is a link to my picture and boat. I am the one in glasses:

Lonestar Whaler

I'm from south central Wisconsin. Pardeeville to be exact. 30 minutes north of Madison. Small town around 1680 people. Two lakes in town which are part of the Fox river. 8 lakes within 8 miles although one is private.

Re: where are you from?

I currently live in Longview, Wa. on the banks of the mighty Columbia river, about 1 hr north of Portland, Oregon. This is not home, exactly, but a stopping off point prior to my next move.
I grew up in Seattle and on Whidbey Island, Wa. and lived for many years in Port Angeles, Wa.- Truly God's country, and just across the Straits from Victoria, Canada and Vancouver Island.
I spent almost 8 years, up till a couple of years ago, living on the North Shore of Lake Huron, halfway between Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury, Ontario, and may well be returning there in the near future.
Boating the North Channel of Lake Huron is beautiful, although the season is much shorter there than here, and it can get rougher quicker on the North Shore than Puget Sound, for example, but it is all nice, and salmon fishing is probably better in Ontario than it is here in Washington--Although I have nothing to complain about either place--If you know where to go and how to do it, there always seem to be fish available.
Though I have to admit I have a preference for salt water.
Regards

Re: where are you from?

I've grown up in Eastpointe, MI. A small "inner ring" suburb of Detroit. I'm about 2 miles from the nearest launch, which was closed all last season for renovations, onto Lake St. Clair. There are 8 launches, that I know of, onto rivers or the lake within a half hours drive of here. Great for bass, musky, pike, and many other types of fishing.
Being a lurker, just trying to learn as much as possible, here I probably have a better idea of who you folks are than you do of me.
The following link might load a little slow, large file size.
Pics

I live in Springdale Arkansas now, but I am originally from a little town just outside Ft Worth Tx called Springtown. I ave lived here in Arkansas for a little over a year now, and love it. I hate most of the people here though, but I have never fished anywhere like here. Clear lakes, no mud! Awesome Crappie and Stripers. Just a good place to live.

How about that... better now. I noticed the 'fishingworks' site was slow earlier too.

OK, I think barely legal refers to the bikini barely legal wears in front of the Galvez, near 13 st, a good place to catch specs on a clear water morning. My best stringer of all time came from that spot in 1980.
Yes , I've lived in Galveston, know it like the back of my hand.

Re: where are you from?

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY.
moved to Long Beach, CA when I was 19 and lived
there for 15yrs. moved back east about 7 yrs.
ago and live in a Hamlet on the Erie Canal
called Knowlesville. about half way between
Buffalo and Rochester. 2 streets, 1 store/post
office, about 200 houses and surrounded by
Dairy and Apple farms on all sides. we have a lift
bridge that you gotta call and ask to raise so
you can get boat under. all along the canal there
are small towns that popped up in the old days
wherever there was a bridge to cross. the old
"tow path" where mules pulled the barges is still
there. about half mi. down the road, the canal
opens up to a nice big pond where lots of fish
spawn. on a busy day I might see 5-10 boats.
also very close to Oak Orchard river which empties
into Lake Ontario about 10 miles to my north.
ain't no fancy niehborhood, but I like it just
fine! :D
M.Y.
