Re: what is your job/title and do you love it

Chief cook and bottle washer for my telecom (OP) const company.

Software tester. So I run after 7 web application developers and test there code they write to ensure it meets specifications and client expectations...

Basically I am like the quality control guy at the end of the line for the new generations factories....websites!

I love it because I am a naturally curious person. My job allows me to be creative with the way I approach problems. I work with intelligent and like-minded individuals who all share a common goal and are passionate about there work.

The company treats us well so that also helps. The owner's taken me out to see the Wild, the Twins, the Vikings etc. they have amazing company events, and we have a beer freg in our office for cryin out loud. I don't drink, but it sure is a hit on Friday's when the guys crack open at 3 and start playing ping pong, darts, Foosball, and pool... sometimes the 3 conference rooms get opened up and it gets a bit wild like a dance party.

It's essentially the modern day madmen, we have creative directors, sales directors, partners etc. Good times for sure!

Re: what is your job/title and do you love it

hmmm thanks guys lotta retired people.
yay i feel young again at work im bout ten yrs older then the majority of the guys i work with and im only 30
but they know that im responsible and they all make me feel like im twenty again.
they are also training me to become a foreman so there is some more good news.
and being the old man on the jobsite has its perks i get the nice gravy jobs most of the time
unless its something complex, or really heavy then they call "DAD" over.
then i get mad and move stuff all by my lonesome, that 3 guys struggled to move.

Certified Ski/ Rental technician at a local resort, find crap jobs in the summer which get by till winter hits again. Has it's up's and downs and I'll need a change within the next year. Job itself is great when it's busy, making money and everyone is happy.

My job title as of this year would best be described as “A Millstone Around the Taxpayers Necks.” Currently collecting money every month from Social Security, Navy Retired Pay, State pension, investment income and rentals.

This is the first time in my life since Eisenhower was President that I haven’t held at least one job and usually two or three. The hours are great but I still don’t seem to have any idle time.

I do whatever it takes, mostly land surveying, but more recently mr. goodwrench fixin transmissions, worked as engineer for a group of radio stations, maintaince on a tug in port canaveral , couple years at a theme park(most fun job), pizza delivery, pool and hot tub pump tech, even worked security at a few gentlemens clubs (job with best view). the grass allways seems greener on the other side, so now i'm thinking boat mechanic, not much boat work round here:blue:

Sergeant First Class in the Army... It has it's moments. Still, looking forward to retirement (just from the Army, I'll still have to work) in 2022.

Detention Specialist in the County Jail, has its moments on both sides, Some good some bad but Generally I enjoy it, I usually control the pod where we have Intake and Mental Housing, I enjoy working with the Mental Inmates which may sound unusual but for the most part the fellas are a lot of fun depending on which personality your talking to.....LOL funny but true!!

My Department just started a Wildland Firefighting Handcrew which I am honored to be a part of, I did it in the past and am very happy to be a part of this new team.

Electrical Engineer. Digital circuit design. Have designed a lot over the years from automobile collision avoidance systems to radar signal processors and cellular base station radio heads. Finally got my first US patent issued last year for Ethernet convergence testing.

Still love what I do even after over 30 years because there is always something new to work on. It's like solving puzzles everyday.

Re: what is your job/title and do you love it

Retired for the last two years. Before that I was an Lead Engineering Technician. I did a lot of Computer Programming to test circuit boards via a computer interface and program to single out a faulty component(s). Also reversed engineered many old circuits and redesign them to modern standards on many different DOD Aircraft. I now enjoy anything that is hands-on and that is why I love my boating projects. I have a very nice fully equipped home shop with every tool I will even need including wood working, metal fabrication, electronic design and manufacturing, welding, and you name it. Have a can do attitude and will tackle anything just for the added experience and self satisfaction... I also love this forum to see what others are doing...

Chiropractor and I love it but hate the paperwork and all that crap so I'm still waiting for my winning Powerball ticket. About 8 years ago I either wisely or unwisely downsized to become a one man show which now made me the Receptionist, Biller and Chief Toilet Swabber. Last year I moved to an even smaller office so I've lost the Toilet Swabber role. I swear my blood pressure has dropped by half directly as a result not having to deal with employees.

Retired from Bellsouth(now AT&T)in 2001 with 30 yrs. service at 50 yrs old. 1st 24 yrs.in Huntsville,Al. Loved it. Was transfered to Birmingham for last 6 yrs. Hated it. After I retired I moved back to N. Ala. Had too much time on my hands and have been working private security for a Gov. contractor for the last 9 years. Love it. I usually work fri,sat & sun. so I can fish 1 day during the week. The other days I take care of whatever the Admiral wants.
