I have a 2004 F-150 XLT, towing package. Pulls like a dream, says 300 horses but I think ol' Blue Oval boys are fibbin.

funny thing .. I just traded an '02 V-10 crew F-250 XLT 4-wheeler for an '02 Powerstroke crew F-250 Lariat 4-wheeler a few days ago.<br /><br />Not sure I like the trim package yet, but I've yanked around a few pieces of equipment with it and so far and the Powerstroke puts the V-10 to shame in my opinion... big difference.<br /><br />Pulling my boats will be no problem with the three I own being a 19' pro-v magnum sc on a single axle, a 21' alum. Sylvan RDS on a tandem<br />axle and a 18' duck boat on a 'heart attack' trailer.<br /><br />no accessories really but, the tandem axle carrying the 21' sylvan has hydro breaks.

1999 F-150 SC Lariat, 4.6l V8, Auto, 3.5ls towing a 1976 Glastron V-195 (2400lbs dry), Ford 302 V8, on a 1974 rebuilt steel tandem axle trailer with electric brakes. Wet and ready, probably around 4000lbs. Tows just fine.... Truck can tow more than owner comfortable with....<br />

Pointer, to lump Toyota in with "Other" is dad-blamed near to insulting I like ole Ohiost8er, he has had nice stable of yota's! I got my wife an '86 4Runner in 1990. Just gave it away this year with 300000 on the o-meter, and it was still running strong. Then I got a '84 Supra, than a, '86 Supra, then another '86 4Runner, me and the wife drove matching white '86 4Runners till mine was destroyed (traffic stopped on the interstate, guy on his cell phone hit me, he was doing 65-70 mph, he took the ambulance, I drove myself to hospital in what was left of my 4Runner) Then I got a 1988 4Runner SR5 that my son drives now. Last year I picked up a little '85 Toyota pick up truck that was like show room new, and sold it a buddy who needed a new ride. This year I bought my wife a '93 Land Cruiser, and this week she bought me a '99 Tacoma Limited TRD 4X4. This is the first Toyota I've had that was made in America. Don't know yet if that matters, but I do like the ones made in Japan. <br /><br />Now, since I have towed with all these Toyotas, including the Supras, I reckon that puts Toyota up there with GM in this poll.

Wes,<br /><br />Sorry, my northern ingorance is showing. We have a toyota dealership but I am not sure if I could tell you where it is... Just kidding. I have spent my entire life hauling 5k lbs+ boats around and that always meant US, full size type trucks. But you are right, things they are a changing.<br /><br />KKC,<br /><br />What you are hauling didn't come threw, but how does that 2door blazer haul in a cross wind or in heavy traffic?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Doug

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Offroad w/5.9L Magnum V8. The nicest feature is aftermarket lights mounted under the rear bumber that point straight back. Make it nice to load/unload in the dark. Toggle for the lights under the steering wheel. With my ancient 14' fiberglass Larson w/70 hp Chrysler, I am constantly looking back to make sure it is still there. I love the truck, because with the offroad package it looks like a 3/4 ton. Pulls like one too!

1997 Mercury Mountianeer, 5.0 v8, all wheel drive. Didn't start towing with it until it had 150K miles on it. So far so good. Towing my small boat and loaded up with family and vacation stuff at steady 65mph it gets about 18mpg.

1992 gmc c-1500 4.3L, 5 speed goes good on the flats.... falls flat on the hills the only upgrade I have done is dual exaust and a hitch
