No need to add structure that isn't there, you could end up with hard spots and cause cracking. The woodwork doesn't look bad, is it original? looks like pine board.

I would pull the tank and give it a good cleaning, replumb with new lines, change the fill hose to alcohol resistant.

How's the transom?

Here is a few pictures of me starting to cut the front platform out. I grinded the paint away to see where i was going to cut. And pictures of where I cut through the hull.

More pictures with the platform off. After removing the platform i notice a soft spot on the left front of the hull. Do you guys think I should grind into it and see why?

I haven't been able to do much b/c its been raining and it has gotten pretty cold down here. Well pretty cold for the part of texas im in.

I plan taking out the stringers tomorrow. Any tips? As for the gas tank do ya'll think? Should salvage it? The gas tank has alot of water in it and , a hole with alot of corrosion near the fill hole and breather valve.

Been busy with other things. I have not done much since my last posting. But I have a question. What type of resin should I use on the stringers ? And what type of glass? I have been reading a bit about resins and glass but, I want to know what ya'll think?


This boat is mainly used in saltwater for fishing. I usually go with 3-4 people.

I believe most people on here would say Poly resin with 1708 biax would be sufficient.
