Thanks for buzzing mt dry dock guys, sometimes I wonder about the wisdom in moving this thread, I see way more activity in the boat resto forum, guys with 14' $100 glass tubs get 20+ replies a day when talking about ripping out their rotten floors.

I guess the quality of the SC/tin boat owners beats the quantity... or maybe it's my glasser destruction vid. :heh:

Forgot the pic of some more progress, the non-skid applied to the transom cover above the swim ladder. Taped off, sprayed, added non skid and then shot another coat of paint.

But we have an appreciation of what you're going through. I'll move it back so you can share glasser demise with them! Give me a minute. :devilish:

Yeah - More activity because patches can't be reevited to a boat made of sand. LOL

IMHO: You'd get WAY more quality tin help here in the SC forum if:
  • the forum wasn't still haywire
AND
  • it wasn't summer

Besides, you've got this........

Over in the resto forum, you'd just be treated to more of GA's & my :blah: anyway...

Sorry GA, it's guy I could think that frequently posts to both glass & tin threads........:grouphug:

She looks and sounds great. She will have plenty of power on the water. I bet your pretty anxious to get her on out for the first run.

I agree participation has been way down on there since the forum "upgrade" but I would rather be in the SC section where real tin men can appreciate and offer advise than be in the glass clan. Although I still own 1 glass, the three tins I previously were SCs and still the best in my book.

I think a move to another sub-forum just so you have to find the topic is in order, WM. But that would take away for Blitz Time, so never mind. Are you still on schedule? I want to join up with CJ and go on a ride with you. :thumb:

Yeah I have been making serious headway even through the heat. Still have the swim ladder to install and motor cover. Although the motor cover has been taking some serious time with cutting, spar, paint and vinyl to come.

Rub rail, caps and hull numbers scratched off the list.

Bimini came and the Fed Ex guy actually brought it to my house!

Man she's a dirty bugger, I need to get her out and wash all the shop dust off, wash windows and vacuum out all the shavings.

Have you ever noticed how UPS/Fed Ex make a delivery? Run up to the door, do one light tap, put the prepared sticker on the door and run back to the truck. Then drive off with your package because you aren't home. Grrrrrrr
I didn't get her going fast enough during the move from the other place to blow off all the dust, WM. I apologize. I would offer a refund, all sales are final! :sneakiness:

Looking good! And remember that boat owner comment, i use it often. Usually goes something like this Them: "blah blah some guy in my business. Me: "hey you can't talk to me like that, i own a boat!!" Them: *confused look*

An update for the short list, accomplishments so far during resto blitz week, 104 degrees today and some forest fires are smoking the place up after a lightening storm yesterday. :faint2:

Finish seating - Done
Pitot tube and temp sensor install - Everything is through the hull, clam shelled and sealed up with 5200 - Done
Boat buckles that need mounts fabricated - Done

Outdrive on and lower unit off to replace water pump / repairs, paint, decals - Done
Fuel and fire up the MC on muffs - Done
Rub rail and end caps - Done
Smart tabs install - Done
Transom cover, vents and blower line, cleats, stern light, non-skid pad - Done

Hull numbers - Done
Swim ladder - Done

Sun deck/engine cover build (wood is cut spared and painted. (Next up when dried good is foam/vinyl)
Upper windshield (no more garage time once windshield is on)
Bimini install.

Addition -
Clean up and secure all the wiring/cables - Done
Window for side of cabin was cut too large by a couple mm's, not sure what to do on it? Today my glass shop buddy sanded it down with big hurking wet belt sander, That was cool to watch and all it cost me was a stogie. (Gran Habano Azteca Fuerte)

Admiral is out in the garage cleaning up the huge mess I've made. :D

Forgot to say... Hey Sig hows Saturday sound for the double splash day?

He's hoping the radiator gets there so he can throw it in and squeeze in another splash. This time with a smart phone for real pics/vid. While he's singing Redneck Yacht Club in the background. LOL

Finally cooled off a bit so some midnight oil is being burned in the garage.

Scratch the swim ladder off the list, looks good after the admiral put a nice coat of teak oil on it. The attaching points had some odd ball sized hole so I took it up to the next level with some 3/8" SS bolts swimming in 5200.

Cheers!

Great work on the short list, it's almost not a list now. If you keep going at this pace you will be able to take Friday and Saturday off, before the splash on Sunday:D, Oh ya what was I thinking, is a boat ever really finished
