Spaghetti feed wire mess... side panel and shifter in place, shift cables seem to be alright for length. New steering cable a foot shorter on order.

Bellows job on the bell housing. Didn't notice the water line kinking and needing to be cut back. Off comes bellows and then back on again. I need a drink now...

You are moving along well. I don't envy your spaghetti as I finally finished my wiring up this past weekend. Needing a drink when doing resto work :) yea, I know that feeling. Lot of trial and error, test fitting and refitting....put it in place and then dang, got to pull it back out. All the fun and joy we endure doing this.

Thanks for buzzing my dry dock guys, looks like the forum is working a whole bunch better now.

Next up is to get the power installed, dash ready for mounting and trim pump in. Also deciding on the stern/dog house area. Admiral wants a sun deck to soak up some rays. Since it's not a fishing rig and a cruiser I think I can accommodate her wishes. Now to come up with the plan for it. Maybe a full blown cover with gas springs like a car hood and a removable front piece. Need to find pics of someones sun deck and get some plans going.

I got a piece of AL cut for the trim pump to set on and have it all prepped to go in. Time goes by so quick after work and my grass won't cut itself either. ;)

You're getting the spaghetti under control. I don't have any ideas for the Admiral's deck, except look at some, ugh, glassers for ideas. For the grass problem, rent a goat. :D

Neighbors give you crap, I tell mine this; "you can't talk to me like that, you don't own a boat".

Yeah I know but what can you do when they want what they want? My Shepherd would eat the goat but it's a good idea, wouldn't have to feed the dog for a few days.

Nice work plugging along buddy:thumb:

Thanks for stopping by, going to be plugging in some wires and firing this sucker up real soon.

I'd say you got the multi-quote figured, Aqua. :thumb:

If any of us lived next to Gibs, we can tell him to cut his grass, can't we? Since we have tinnies, tell him to trim too. OR ignore the grass and work on our tin boats together like good Starmadians, right?

No grass cut last night, instead I worked on cables. iboats got me a new teleflex steering cable in record time so I had to install it. That was super easy to replace in my rotary helm and the fit is perfect. I also got the trim pump secured to it's new home.

Some progress this weekend, got most all the wiring all done. Resto buddy's anxiety level is back to normal now after a few frosty mugs and a stogie. Next big thing is to fire her up and make sure all the sending wires are where they should be and all's well with the install..

That's the first shot I've seen of the mounted dash, WM. It sure turned out nice and looks really good all decked out!

That dash looks amazing. After the power re-fit this must've been up there in terms of engineering challenges.

Some decals came in yesterday via USPS and so I handed them off to some very meticulous fingers of Admiralty.

The pacific blue decals match pretty close to the Chief's blue, I'm happy happy happy.

Thanks guys, those decals were spendy and I'm glad she had the nerves to put them on for me. I was terrified

I have a week off work this month and plan on a resto blitz to cross the finish line and get the Chief in the lake.

Finish seating
Pitot tube and temp sensor install
Boat buckles that need mounts fabricated
Outdrive on and lower unit off to replace water pump / repairs & maybe paint
Fuel and fire up the MC on muffs
Transom cover, vents and blower line
Rub rail and caps
Smart tabs install
Sun deck/engine cover build
Swim ladder
Upper windshield (no more garage time once windshield is on)
Hull numbers

Time to get her on the water!

I'm sure there's more I will come across there always seems to be a domino effect. ;)
