STARCRAFT ON THE WATER

Simply beautiful, Water. The color, the trim, the bimini, the sunpad, everything - You built a helluva nice cruiser! :thumb:

Got the vid up now on YT, from the dock, a cruise at 35 and then a WOT run all patched into one.

Enjoy

I have to give my resto buddy some serious credit for all his help, he worked his rear off right along side me and made this happen in a timely manner.

Wow. Great work. Very nice boat. 47mph in a tinny almost seems crazy fast.....

You guys are too kind, thank you for all your positive comments and I really do appreciate it immensely coming from all of you.

Well my list of things to change and fix after the shakedown splash was pretty short.

- Redesign the hinges for the sun deck, put in stop cables so the top doesn't over extend when opened and add latches on the lower facing board. - Done
- Transducer was loosing it's bottom lock so had to adjust it. - Done
- Bimini with the solid rear supports remained erect when the top was booted and trailered so I drilled out the threads in the SS hardware, added a detent ball pin rather than the screw provided. Now I can pull the pins and lay the bimini down flat for trailering. I didn't like the way the wind constantly worked it when trailering. - Done
- Shifter needs minor tweaking as the lever has to be moved too far forward to engage and reverse not very far before it engages. - Up next

I ended up with about 5 or 6 ounces of water in the bilge after being on the water yesterday for over 2 hours. I need to make sure I don't have a dripping hose somewhere rather than some water seeping in elsewhere. It wasn't enough that would even come out of the drain plug and today it was dried up but it still concerns me to have any water inside.
Thanks again for stopping by and showing your support fellas! :yo:

Fine looking SC watermann! You were hauling...I was afraid that bimini was going to take flight. Great looking boat once again.

Thank you for the comments guys. Seeing what all of you have accomplished gives a ton of meaning to your words of praise.

I have all my shakedown cruise issues resolved and this week is weather dependent (I'm outside) for some additional finish work on the Chief. I still haven't been able to locate where the water came in on the cruise, none of the hoses are leaking so I guess it is what it is. I just don't like seeing water inside after all the work I did to keep it out. I guess 5 or 6 ounces of water in 2 hours isn't so bad for a riveted tin boat made when Apollo 11 took off for the moon.
