Debating whether or not I should work on the Chief today... being that it's Murphy's favorite day.

Not to be too harsh, but you might go ahead & move the Admiral's car outta the driveway & ask her to park at the curb until after midnight

Went and picked up my lower windshield yesterday but I was afraid to mess with it until I get some help, The glazing vinyl was too shallow to work so now I'm going to have to use some silkflex poly glazing to set the windshield into the frame pieces. I can see a huge mess on the horizon, me and goop never have mixed too well. Any advice or tips on glazing that poly carb into the frames would be helpful.

Heading off to the lumber yard to pick up some 3/4 ply for the seat boxes now. Got some help coming over this afternoon to work on getting that lower windshield installed.

Looking forward to seeing the windshield. I still have to address that and so close to being done. Did you go one piece or two?

Well I didn't get my helper today so no windshield in and no ply cut. I hate trying to wrestle and saw a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" by myself. Although I did have some time on my hands to think about how to get it put together. Willy my windshield is one piece poly carb.

I have a bunch of parts in boxes all over the place so I dug into a couple of them and did something at least. I got the handrails and treads all fastened in the gunnels. Slide one of my cabin bulkheads, dropped a couple seats inside in and took some measurements as best I could for the seat boxes. A week and my pedestals haven't shipped and 10 working days and neither has my vinyl. My helm chairs have arms on them and pretty deep so the hand rail should suffice to keep the admiral in the boat if she hangs on to it that is. Had to cut some pieces of ply and spar them up for backers under the gunnel, just a washer didn't seem good enough.

Wish I could help on the windshield Water, but I've never dealt with a one piece. Details really make it all come together.

Those are nice Admiral Retention Rails and they look good. The small things still count toward the finish.

Got the windshield installed and the seat boxes built with a start on the spar. I put a bead of Sikaflex in the bottom of the window frame channels and put them on the poly carb one at a time, dropped in the rivets and taped it together until I got it to the Chief. Laid a bead of the Sikaflex on the window frame seat, pinned it up onto the cabin with clecos and then shot in the rivets. Left to do after it sets up is to glaze it and fill in a bead underneath between the bow cover and the windshield frame.

Windshield looks great Water. They did a nice job on the bend. How thick is the poly?

Thanks guys, I was shocked how easy it went in. I believe it's 3/16", the key was getting all of the angles cut right.

Today is my one year anniversary of bringing home the Chief. I've had some up and downs and she's taught me a lot about restorations. Just to recall what changes have come about in the process.
