Waiting on parts always sucks. I hate getting a shipping notice with a tracking # only to find that nothing even leaves the warehouse for several days after. Looks like you are ready to start the build inside the hull. Have you built you cabin walls yet?

Yea the forum errors have been very frustrating and you would think by now they would have things figured out. I find every time I post and hit the post reply button it says it is working and then after about a minute get an error message. I just hit ok on the message then the refresh on my browser and what do you know my post magically appears.

Thanks again for checking out my dry dock guys. Yeah Willy I have the 2 cabin walls cut, nothing fancy just 3/4" ply that's got 3 coats of spar and the inside painted with 2 coats of the white tractor paint. When I get the vinyl I'm going to cover the outside of the walls with it. I hope it's durable enough to last being on a flat vertical surface it won't suffer from the sun at least. Lots of white on the Mr Clean machine.

Looking great H20! I was worried about all the white in my cabin, but it sure is nice on a hot day.

It looks like you're planning something special for the anchor.... I've been fishing by myself and need to do a windlass.

I feel your pain on the part stuff. Everything seems to come in backwards I find buying stuff online aton cheape but there is something to be said for the instant gratification of walking into a store and buying the parts that u need.

Question for you closed bow guys about the bow vent. My Chief was originally facing forward to scoop the air I guess but that made me think "yeah and water too". I had thought about turning it around to face aft but I find my bow cleat wont have much room for a line if I do that. Did you guys go ahead and put yours back forward facing? I don't plan on hanging any of that ugly vinyl hose from it, rather just leave it open under the bow cover for fresh air intake. I'm pretty much a fair weather boater but have been caught out many times in the rain and rough water. What water that comes in will drain right down the bow keel and into the bottom without even hitting the decking.

Yeah your vent in on the other side... wide open! :D

So why isn't that pretty girl going to the prom? Too nice of a figure to be out in the field.

No bow vent on my Holiday either, even when the P/O moved the fuel tank up under the bow.

My Nassau has a bow vent, facing the stern. But it's much closer to the nav light and plenty of clearance for the cleat. So I'm not much help. An old pic.

Here is the original pic of my chief with the bow vent facing forward. Thinking I will just put it back like the original, no way to move a hole. :D

The nav light, vent and cleat are jammed in there. I wonder if the vent is an add on. It can't be very effective with the light blocking most of it.

No bow vent on my 18' Chief either. But I had (have) two useless gunwale vents...not much to vent with an outboard. They mostly just serve to allow water onto my wiring harness.

Crammed in is right, I thought about making a patch to cover the hole but then decided to just put it back. The "new from donor boat" nav light size has decreased from the size of an apple pie to that of a moon pie so some air should get in now. It was an original vent, identical to the one on the transom cover and was screwed into the mahogany with steel screws that were rusted out. .

All four pieces on the bow are in close quarters. The "Moon Pie" helps. The cleat still seems tight for tying off to an anchor or dock line, but not impossible.

Thought I mite be able to sneak onboard again. I just realized what my blown out fuel tank could become. Remember the wasps you made homeless,
