I didn't forget the carpet. ;) it was already calculated in my budget. This is probably going to stretch to a multi year venture but I hope to have it on the water at least once this summer and probably drydock and paint it over the winter.

I didn't realize I was going to have to paint the transom after epoxy before I put it back in. See I am learning things.

Any portion of the transom that will 'see' sunlight & UV will need to be painted. Most just paint it after the splashwell goes back in.

3) 4x8' sheets of the 2" thick foam should get you close, but you may find room for a fourth one.

You remember that crumbling rotten wood you just took out of your boat? That epoxy is going to help keep that from happening again.

No Hazmat on epoxy.

.... that's another thing that jacks up the price of the poly resin.

19. Is there a hazardous fee for shipping?

No. All of our epoxy systems are classified as nonhazardous and can be shipped by UPS Ground or UPS Air. There is no additional hazardous shipping fee for these liquids.

Well $145 doesn't sound too bad.

Well I do have a pretty tight budget for this rebuild so after everything is pretty much done I am going to lay out there what it is for everyone before everyone critiques my work. We can see how I did for the budget on just the boat the trailer is not going to be included. :)

Unfortunately there has been no work on the boat today.

Unfortunately there was not further progress on the boat this evening, as the admiral had me running errands before work today.

I went to Ace hardware to pick up my chimney pipe while my garage is heated my shop is not. I am hoping that the stove is large enough to heat one side of my shop +/- 1300 square feet to 80 degrees for the epoxy work.

Quite the steering wheel puller system you rigged up
great job providing the pictures..will love following this thread..
what kind of seats will you be using???
If pedestal style...might want to use stainless steel
T-nuts on underside of deck for the pedestal mounts
before putting the deck down for good... and if the mounts are near
the sides and counter sunk into the floor..watch out for where your ribs are
so you have the clearance you need...

This one was just for fun fishing for babies.

And one last but shot for everyone.

Other progress not listed, New tires for the trailer, replaced all of the broken and missing lug nuts, new trailer lights.

Ps That is the admiral in the background

She is starting to get really excited about the project now, she is online looking at carpet, vinyl, and paint.

I think I am going to get lucky and actually be able to pull the transom and have a template, so far I have found exactly one piece of wood on the boat that wasn't in the process of rotting and it was the board that the back of the steering wheel mounted to.

Nice progress. I'm insanely jealous of your shop, in fact I'm not talking to you for the rest of the night!

Re: Time to get started on the starcraft resto.

You are only seeing half of it. The shop is 30x80 with 12 foot ceilings, I only heat and cool half of it though. It would cost me a small fortune to do the whole thing. That little wood stove sure doesn't play around though for $300 it had that half to 83 degrees the other night. I thought about doing this in the garage but it is just to much boat.

Re: Time to get started on the starcraft resto.

Its not too much boat, clearly its not enough garage....

Gadzookes, 30*80 w 12' ceiling..... More like the southern (or Tennessee) version of Dozer's Starcraft hanger....

Great work on all fronts: toddler crawl & fishing 4babies derby, hanging the motor and getting the admiral on board & shopping for carpet & etc.

There's a link to a motor stand design in Don's helpful links sticky at the top of the resto forum.
