Love that!!! he peed his pants!!!

in my house they're getting shot no questions asked. I assume they are there to do bodily harm.
had a guy try to walk into our house while the better half was in the shower. he was met at the door by the dog. before she could get out to see what was going on he was in his car and tearing out of the drive. she said she had never heard my dog growl/bark like that before. Puppy got a nice dinner that night.

Re: thieves took wifes pocketbook

Sorry about your wife's loss.

Last week a friend of mine here at work just finished grocery shopping and when she got to her SUV, she put her purse in the front seat and started unloading groceries from the cart. A car pulled up from behind her, a lady passenger jumped out and took her purse right out of her car.

That seems to be a thing here lately. Thieves drive around the parking lots and when they see a target, they pull up behind them so they can drive away and steal whatever they can. This week a woman had a gun held to the back of her head. The thief using the same MO parked behind her car and proceede to rob her.

Parking lots are not safe even if they have security.

Oh, I saw it but I dont see where he said he was going to use it on them. Big Difference. Maybe, and I`m just saying maybe he intends to use it to hold them til the authorities show up.

rule #1 of guns if you're gonna show it you better be willing to use it. otherwise you're a fool waiting to get hurt. no such thing as scare them with a gun.

Wish there was an 'open carry' law. Everybody walkin' around with iron on their hip.....with proper training and license of course.

But I suppose I'll be content with carrying concealed, so I get the joy of seeing the 'oh chit' look in their eyes as they stare down the hole of my .45 :D

actually if she had a $400 purse in the trunk that was taken, I would think it is someone who knows she has that purse and that she puts it in the trunk. I would be willing to bet it's someone who knows you guys not just a random thing.

That's what I was thinking, unless they were scavanging through the whole car and happened upon it.

Why does your wife leave her purse in her trunk at night?

Ok yeah I forgot to ask that. Breaking into a car is one thing but taking the time to get into the trunk to me says something else.

we have open carry here but no concealed carry. I would prefer the concealed. although if I was going to open carry it would have to be my .357 revolver. cowboy style. LOL

Congratulations to gary in Matthews . Im a native of charlotte and think the same way he does. No I would never plan to shoot anyone breaking into my shop or car but I do think I have the right to confront them at gunpoint and demand they put their hands up and wait till the cops arrive. If they want to attack me and not wait then I feel I can protect myself and blow their arse away...Anyone have a problem with this?

Sad that we have to, but, be aware of who and what is around you. Park with your safety in mind. Have the panic button where you can hit it in a hurry. Don't leave a purse in sight. Don't be an easy mark and target practice every chance you get.

I have a problem with it. As a lawfully armed citizen and a HCP holder in the state of Tennessee doing that will land you in jail. Unlawfull detention is the charge and it is serious. I have drawn my weapon one time and had every intention of using it, however that was a serious threat on my life. For a $400 purse its not worth it, not to mention the fact that setting someone up like that can take a charge of manslaughter to 1st degree homicide.

I have carried my weapon for almost 8 years in that time have had 2 car stereos and countless tools stolen, but would never draw just because I am going to lose a piece of property. I have drawn before got lucky with no charges filed because it was legitmate, thankfully no one was shot (or as the threat to me was beaten to death with a baseball bat).

Really hoovers when fook'n scum bags do sheet like that. But FYI lethal force is only actionable if a life (yours or anyone else's) is threatened. Not in the protection of personal belongings or property.[/QUOTE]

Depends what state you are in. Some states, if a thief is in your home or even on your property you have the RIGHT to use deadly force. Now I may not shoot someone trespassing but if they break into my home they are dead meat. I will not allow my wife or kids to be in harms way. Way to many freaks out there and I will not try to understand nor figure out if someone that breaks into my home is dangerous or not. As far as I am concerned if they are in my house uninvited they will leave in a box. I will not feel a bit guilty about it. I would make sure the kids would not see the mess though.

In Florida we have the right to meet force with force and stand our ground. They changed the law so you no longer have to retreat from danger if confronted. Also we have the castle Doctrine that they really put some teeth into so that all you have to feel is threatened on your property or in your vehicle. Sorry to hear your wife's purse got stolen and for the thief's sake he/she doesn't come back for more. I need to hit Harbor Frieght and pick up one of those detectors. I had one at the end of the driveway and it finally gave it's all when the propane truck backed over it.

Re: thieves took wifes pocketbook

I hate to say it but i always felt "Shoot first, ask questions later"

If some scumbag breaks into the house it is fair game in my opinion.
If they break into the shop or garage then they get the dogs first and buckshot second.
My property is fenced in with motion lights and No Trespassing signs so that is their warning.

One night the lights out back came on behind my shop.
I let both dogs out and grabbed the 12 gauge.
I found a crack head on top of my camper,The dogs about got him but he climbed up the ladder on the camper.

He peed his pants too....Funny as *ell when the Cops got there and the front of his pants were soaked!

My one dog sounds like a bull running and has a super deep growl.
The other one will sneak up on them and bite like crazy.

The bolded part will get you put in prison for murder, or if you're a ****ty shot, attempted murder.

No matter how much you despise a thief, you CANNOT SHOOT TO DEFEND PROPERTY. No matter what state you are in, this is NOT NEGOTIABLE AND YOU WILL GO TO PRISON FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE IF YOU DO.

In Louisiana, and a few other states, they are "right to confront" states. Meaning.....and carefully read this, you may "confront" someone on your property with a gun. And you do NOT have to back down. If they are willing to charge at you, or reach and possibly pull a gun of their own out even staring down the barrel of yours, then you can, and ONLY THEN, have the right to shoot to stop the threat. Notice I didn't say "shoot to kill." If you shoot them in the back, for instance, you'll go to prison. No one is a threat to you running away. I had a concealed handgun permit and took and passed the required course without problems. I learned a lot. CC permits are about when NOT to use a gun, not when TO use one. Basically, if there is ANY doubt whether your life is in danger, it's probably not and it's your adrenaline pumping. Keep the gun squarely on his chest, give him a chance to leave, and call the police. Let them do their job. Yours is only to survive.

Not long ago someone broke into my truck and stole, of all things, my radar detector. I was prepared, and still am, to confront him with lethal force, but ONLY if he comes after me and you MUST give him an "out." You can't corner him in a fenced yard and then tell him if he comes at you he's dead. You're giving him no choice. He must be given a way out. He does NOT have to stay when you say you will hold him at gunpoint until the cops arrive. If you shoot him when he is trying to get away, you will spend the rest of your adult life in prison.

You MUST be careful with this. If you want to go to prison for life because someone is stealing a purse, that is your personal choice, but I believe it would be one you would regret the day they slapped the handcuffs on you. You can always buy another purse, you can't take back a poor choice like lethal force.

Dang right!!

Thanks Fairlane!

Waterinthefuel...I hear ya. I might re-phrase that as shoot if i see a weapon then ask questions if they are trying to get into the shop or garage.
If someone breaks into the house at night i could care less what weapon he has if any.
