The hull looks like a beer can thats been washed around on the beach for so long that the paints wore off . lol..
Notice the trailer roller ? I assume its the original gator rollers . That and the funny rear bunk tilt mechanism..
I,ve never seen a trailer with that on there ... Over all trailer is really good shape .. Repaint , regrease ,should be good to go ...

Some Gators had tilt feature that basically lifted the front of the frame. FiberGlassics has some stuff on trailers. Here is one page;

There is a gator horse trailer company in fl .. Not sure if it’s the same company ..
‘I did the boat shuffle today so the Wagemaker is in the outside shelter and the tin boat is in the garage for paint .,
‘I finally got the Admirals work from home office done so now it’s time to get boat stuff going again ..
I’m still healing up from surgery so I gotta watch what I do .. Not much prep work left on the outside of the hull I think ..
‘There is some pitting on the transom though .. I think I have read that JB Weld is ok to use to fill those ?
‘Not real bad but enough to maybe address before paint ..

Thanks guys I am starting to feel better .. Spent a little time this weekend on prep work .. Fiber wheeled around all the rivets and got the rest of the silly cone off the hull .. That was a chore ! I need to do the final sanding .. What grit would y'all recommend ? I'm thinking 120 so the primer can get a good bite .. Also Should I do the vinegar bath that is always talked about to stop the oxidation before prime ? Any info on that would be helpful ...
IMG_0868.JPGIMG_0867.JPGIMG_0866.JPG I also skimmed the pits with some JB - Weld I had on hand .
Really looking forward to getting the bottom painted .. After that probably paint the trailer .. I bought one of those sandblasting attachments for the pressure washer .. Gunna see how well it works on the trailer frame ..
Happy Fathers day guys .. Time for some BBQ hamburgers my son just took off the grill ! :hungry:

Getting close to priming . Was gunna do it today but with work tonight I didn't want to feel rushed ..
Gave it a good scrub with some purple power cleaner and a scotch bright pad .. Then hit the whole thing with some 120 on the RO sander .. Then another rinse .. I need to clean up the garage a bit today and get things ready so maybe a good acetone wipe down and primer tomorrow after I get home from work ..

Most tinnys also get an acid bath before painting.

Heinz cleaning vinegar is 6% and is a favorite. And is best done immediately prior to spraying, just need to make sure rivet heads and seams are dry, then spray....

Dont let it sit long after getting it prepped.

John , do you rinse the vinegar after the bath ? Or just let it dry .
It takes a while for the ribs on the bottom to dry out ..

Sam for all the tight areas/rivets get a can of compressed air to blow out the vinegar.Just a thought. Also I know the make a can of compressed air that has no moisture in it if thats an issue.

1wk 6a-330p then 8wks 230p-1230p, and now back to 6a-330p Mon. They are paying for my room, mileage and per diem, so I couldnt say no.

Be at least another week here. After July 4th weekend, may be back at long term project I've been on since Aug 2017.

There may be a motorcycle in my future, the per diem and mileage will be about $4500+ by July 4th, add the Covid $1200 and I can just about pay cash for a new 2020 Kawasaki 400 w ABS.......

Certain things I dont mind @ 2nd shift, but the days just come and go, and the weekends evaporate too quickly....

Good luck w wrapping up tbe current gig and moving on.....
