Now we are working in my tax bracket!

I agree with ya JAS other than the fact it does not have any paper work. I would not take on that part of a refurb, have heard to many night mares about that.

EDIT: Can't sell it here. It's a glasser and none of us will want it. Post it for free on Craiglist. It will probably gone in a day.

Hey thanks for the offer nukid. I kinda feel like a fella really has to have the heart and the guts to put a glasser back together. I have seen some of the glass boat rebuilds around here and man o man, hard work for sure! Your boat has potential, my minds eye can see that rig being a beauty once again!:D

Heads up, EZ may have to change up your post a little.

Yah, I think his only issue is finding a big enough suit case:D

It will fit.

I talked to the guy tonight for over an hour again. Trip is still on. I will be landing Thursday at 1130am and at his house twenty minutes later. I will post results the second the deal happens or not.

The guy says" You must really want a Starcraft to go through all this trouble."

Gotta love jetting around looking for a boat...:D

Stumbled across this one today and checked it out...

Really neat little rig! It's a 12' Starcraft Speedster. I believe it's mid 1960's vintage. It's a closed bow (though that bow cap was off) with a steering console. It has wood gunwales (totally rotted out) too. The tin was in really good shape given it's age.

I could really see this being a super sharp restoration in my head.

He was asking $400 and said I could have it for $300. He really wanted me to buy it. He said that he had a 30 horse Johnson on it (completely rotted transom):eek:. I told him he had more "guts" than me as I wouldn't consider putting a motor of any size on that transom.

Sadly, I had to drive away without her. Not quite close enough to free and already have a giant project that needs my attention at the moment.:D

Really neat boat. However that's more a $150er in my mind. Also, I personally wouldn't consider anything less than 14'.

Hopefully I will not upset all of you all but I was given a 1978 I think 18 starchief by my uncle and a StarCraft canoe from my sister's neighbor. Both for $0

I've got about $300 in the StarChief. New Transom, new water pump, and cleaned carbs. Should have the trailer finished by early Dec. and hopefully splash her and have some phics, movies, and performance numbers to share.

Agreed, it's utility is pretty limited. I could see something like that being a "restoration" rather than a "rebuild". Sorta the flavor of Brett's Ski Champ ya know.:)
