Ah, tin boats are light, your bicycle with a hitch would wok just fine. Or just...

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

I'm Jonesing for a 14 foot Starcraft. My wife is going to kill me though.

I've been fishing out of the 12 foot flatbottom until the Offshore is done. I want to sell it (12 foot) and pick up a 14 footer. Driveway realestate is a problem though.

I think I'll wait until I finish the 18 foot Offshore until I start into another project.

Hi my name is Don and I have MSBS (multiple Starcraft boat syndrome) and it's killing me!

I want a Starcraft camper too. No not new, yes I'm a bottom feeder.:D

So, ok......

One question...

Does the house it's sitting under come with it?

I think so, "comes with windshield and cover for summer", this is his winter set up.

you had said
Someone buy this quick before I do and end up homeless
Here ya go:rolleyes:

Well I just got home from looking at that Islander. Thats alot of tin.

First the bad..
Bearings on the trailer will need to be done just to haul it out of there. At least one side on the trailer the hubs had way to much play for me to attemp and 1 1/2 hour haul home. Needs lights and wiring on the trailer to get home too. End caps at the stear rub rail corners a re missing too. Deck in the stern of the boat is rotted away, the last 3 feet of it was just dust. Engine a outdrive all look to be there but its been sitting for so many years, there's no way to know if they're any good.

My assessment = total rebuild

The good
They want to get rid of it. I got the feeling they would take a low ball offer.

The questions I have to ask myself. Do I feel Lucky ?? Am I up for a rebuild of this size? It would have to be an outdoor rebuild. The winters are long and the snow gets deep here. And I'm not getting any younger.

I'm going to ponder this for a fews days. I've been the only person to look at it so I don't think it going anywhere soon.

Great opportunity to grab a big girl for little $$.

You are smart to think it through tgp. I didn't realize what a big job putting mine back together was until I started working on the Jet. Both tin, two different games though.

All the best!

Wow I don't think they quite have the aerodynamics idea figured out might need a little fine tuning:):D

A couple big anchors and a really big trolling motor required.

When I first looked at it, I thought it was parked next to a pickup camper, but they show 2 different angles.

Think it plows a little

That's funny. I saw exactly the same thing. Looked at the other angle and thought at least it isn't a double-wide. And wondered if the deck and hull had a hatch for ice fishing.

Nearly Free. $150. $117 of that money came from scrap metal. So $33.
She's rough, but I'll clean the crap out of it, and see what I have. By tag on the back of the boat its a 1972. Powered by a 140 Mercruiser.

I suppose I should start a new thread now.....

Now, we did this backwards but that is ok. I'll need your first name TGP so I can add ya to the first posting. Kind of an AA for Starcrafters sort of a deal ya know.

Congrats man!:)
