I love it, I say get it for sure. :)

It's already set up for a Merc drive, so total costs and hassle will be minimized:D

Nice looking boat the transom would have to be falling off the boat to get me to replace it. to many things to reinforce it with to do that. Prob. be around 3 K by the time you would be finished. Your looking at 500 dollars worth of Bennett Trim tabs on that boat alone. Pugetsound.

Yuppers, agree with the others and would jump all over that buddy. I would still do it right now even though mine is completely gutted at the moment, just another project that would really make the wife happy......NOT

Well man, the whole point of this here thread is the elusive free, or nearly free, Starcraft. You know what, you found it! Sell of some parts you don't need and it will be FREE! You may even make money on that deal! (at least to start)

She looks really great overall, trailer looks solid too.

And hey, if you are looking to go small budget on it, just skim through my Islander thread. The only thing I have spent real money on so far was the sacrificial glasser for the Merc (made most of that money back parting it out and selling the trailer), epoxy, and seats. The rest is pretty much just paint, wood and sandpaper.

Go for it man!:D:D:D

That is a very very worthwhile project there. If you're at all interested in a big Starcraft, I'd snatch that one up. Outdrive looks to be in nice condition. Worst case it needs a block which isn't too expensive (and they heck, you have NEW motor!)

Solid advice (from a OB guy even!)

That's about right give or take your ability to find good deals. I'm sitting at a little over 3K into mine so far, I'm sure I'll hit $4K by the time I'm "done", but I'm not putting as much energy as Jason is into keeping expenses down. See the link in my signature below for all the details.

Jason thats a great idea. May I suggest one thing for all of us to ponder. What if the boat is out of state or a good distance away?
Let me offer this to my SC brothers: I would be willing to transport a boat from Northern VA to Southern VA via I95. If a tag team could be put together that would be great. Gas would be negotiated but my time is free to y'all. Preferably weekends.

Example: Boat is in SC. If someone can bring it to Va state line I'll take it to DC area. (if its going north of coarse) or versa visa

I'd be willing to pick up in Baltimore/DC north to somewhere in Pennsylvania

I can give you a couple guesses as to why Todd up there wants a Starcraft............ :D:D:D

Willing to trade a 23' Sea Ray with a new 5.0 small block for a Starcraft! PM me with any questions!
