Hey Bob- Very True

Hey TC - Yes, days like to day makes me remember whats most important in life, family and children.

Hey Kenny- Thanks, The expression on his face was worth a million dollars, It was great.

Hey Kev, LOL I didn't even pick up on the AWSOME-EEER Yes it sure was great being me today :D Much better than most days ;). Talk funny, HEY I RESEMBLE that LOL. Funny story with all the traveling I used to do back trucking I always hid my accent. On top of that my mom is English so my accent wound up back then as a cross between, Boston, Brooklyn, PA, VA etc LOL Really used to confuse people LOL

Tomorrow is back to the grind, have a car being dropped of in the morning for an engine job, then off to do some plumbing work. This weekend is a family camping and fishing trip with the boy scouts so that should give for a perfect ending for the week :)

Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem

Thanks guys

Wow Beta That really stinks I hope it was insured . She was a little noisy but it was hard for me to tell because I had the engine uncovered and that made it loud. I was so pumped up with Liam and I taking her out into the sound that I completely forgot to put the seat cushions on over the engine dog house

Hey EZ it was a blast, the best part was the expression on my sons face :) .

Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem

Hey Vegas- I had already talked to Vert . I do have 2 other props, a 15p and the 2nd one I have no idea what it is The only stamp I found on it says A550 . That is the one that was on the old drive and is pretty beat. Here are pics of it.

100_1425.jpg

As you can see its pretty beat up and corroded but if its a 19, 21 or 23 at least it would give me an idea. I just want to leave it on to long because the balance has to be way off and I don't want to mess up the drive.

If anyone recognizes the A550 stamp Please let me know. I did a google search and came up empty handed

EDIT- I just measured it its a 14 1/4 diameter if that helps. From what I see it has to be a 19 0r 21p the rise on the blade is 4 3/8" the blade has a 39deg pitch if that helps

Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem

Ok, well after a long debate and even talking with Cruiser Yachts I think I am going to go with a Michigan Wheel Vortex 14d x 20p 4 blade prop . The guy at cruiser was great and said they even used to put big blocks in my boat to make Hot Rod Cruisers :D
The prop in the pic above turns out to be a 21p according to Michigan, before I spend the money on the new one I really would like to see if the 14 1/4 x 21 does a good job to use it as a barometer . I am worried that it is to banged up and screw up the drive

Any thoughts, you think 3hrs will mess things up???

Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem

Bill, my buddy and I whacked something with his boat one weekend but it didn't really feel like much other than a bump so we continued on our merry way. When we pulled the boat out we were missing like HALF a friggin' blade, and yet we'd felt no extra vibration. So what I'm saying is I'd have no problem with runnin' that one of yours for a little bit. Don't accelerate hard cuz it might have a weak hub.

Thanks EZ,

With that in mind, I am going to put her on tomorrow and take her out in the PM after I finish work if its early enough.

I was really surprised when talking to Cruiser Yachts today, I told him with my present setup the boat was theoretically able to do 65-70 and I thought that was to fast for that boat. His response, No problems, we used to put big blocks in some of them to 60-70mph boats the hull can take it without any problems

BUT I still don't think I would want to go that fast in her, I'm thinking more for fuel economy. With a 21 I should be able to do 36 at 3000rpm which is right in my power curve

Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem

Hey Bill,
I have seen folks run as normal, a lot worst props then that. Not saying I would but for a short test run shouldn't be a big problem. I would follow EZ's advise too.
Take care and good luck.
