Re: the 1967 Holiday 18 and Multiple Boat Syndrome

pretty happy with how all this turned out, altho I have lots of sanding to do on edges of the Lexan to prettify it....total draw of both LED lights is 3.6 amps, much more doable than the 10ish amp draw of the originals

got the terminal bars (to disconnect the wires to bow and stern from console) in place and semi wired

installed the reset switch for the flow gauge “total fuel used” function

and that is about all the progress i have to show. pigweed is trying to hit 6' in my yard so may not be much progress to post this week.

are we seeing where i get my wood-junkie ways yet?

a very small amount of progress between battling the monsoon-season weeds and ducking the monsoons themselves. mostly just indoor work, but i am sneaking up bit by bit on finishing the console.

test fit of the batteries in their hobbithole

found one potential problem: one of the spade lug terminals connecting to the ACR is so loose that it just fell off the lug on ACR. this would be a real drag at sea, esp if it kllled my batteries. check fit of all spade lugs, especially if you cheap out like me and use the Ace Hardware kind instead of buying real Ancor ones!

the terminal block for wires running to stern. still need to trest fit the console to decide where to cut the exit holes for cables etc.

Wiring is looking real good B2. Good luck on finding that perfect piece of property, sounds like the values are pretty high.

Excellent, well thought-out wiring scheme B2! Good tip on the spade terminals...give'm a little pinch if they feel a wobbly.

Have you test-fired the CDF from that distance? I really dig that battery setup however Ohm's law and my wallet don't get along

+1 man!!! Looks terrific....so what's left before the install of the console into the boat??? You must be close at this point....

sneaking up on dropping it in. really, the biggest obstacle right now is the monsoons.....gotta wait for things to dry out to finalize and 4200 the transom; need to get the transom done before i can drop floors in, and need to have floors in before i can get the console located.

Uh Bruce, I know you live in the desert, and there is a lake IN yur boat, uh this is all messed up, something just seems all wrong here...

Bro, can you put a pole or something under there so the rain sheds off eh? Heck of a lot easier than bailing it out all the time!

That lake is ripe for stocking? Careful the cover doesn't rip.

I don't know about that. Perhaps a combo rig would be better:

Jas, eventually the console will be the high spot in the middle; the pool is the space in the cover where it's supposed to go. for now, i've tried various spare trash cans etc but they keep getting knocked over when the cover flaps. i did just have an idea though: why am i not just starting a siphon to drain the water instead of working so hard?

Re: the 1967 Holiday 18 and Multiple Boat Syndrome

hola gents--

sorry i been MIA for it looks like another 2 months. tons of big trials at work, and lots of work on the house at home (realized, upon gentle suggestion :rolleyes:from the Admiral, that there were a number of jobs that i needed to get done before the really cold weather hit, like replacing window with glass block (currently a 3x3' hole in wall of bathroom; makes showers an adventurous proposition....).

boats, bikes, and other projects are languishing. i have got a deal worked out to GET RID OF one boat, the 18' catamaran, for what i paid for it ($0). AKA a glasser-ectomy for the ranch........

minor progress on the Holiner but nothing that would show up in pix. got some epoxy slung this week and trying to get it re-started. hopefully pix soon. expect it will take me 2 weeks just to catch up on where everyone's at.
